@Michael the magic in this tone is in the recording track. he recorded two guitars that play the same, thats why he have this fat tone. to record two guitars that play exactly the same, is a masterpiece
He used a Lee Jackson modded JCM800, a Metaltronix M-1000 and an Ampeg Lee Jackson VL-1001.. You can hear the three distinct amp tones.. I own the exact Ampeg VL-1001 used on this track..
I wish more social media guitarists doing covers would listen to these isolated tracks and realise that these great solos aren’t perfectly clean or necessarily ‘perfectly executed’…but played with soul and passion which is far, far better than being super precise.
I love it. I watched a cover band doing this in rehearsal. The guitarist played the parts "cleaner" than this. This is amazing. It shows the passion and the magic of what Zakk did. This is why the song sounds so radical.
Out of all of Ozzy's albums this one sounds the best to me as far as overall tone of all of the instruments involved including Ozzy's voice, I love Randy and jake, but Zack's tone on this album is the best in my opinion.
Now if only they could Isolate his live performances.....Because all the extra squeals he does and the extra efforts would be amazing. I heard this Live in Budokan and Zakk's performance was absolutely incredible all the extra things he throws in and he doesn't seem to slip.
Zakk is one of the best live guitarists in my opinion. He never seems to make a mistake and his improvisation is top notch. Just think of all the songs from the previous Ozzy guitarists that he had to learn... and he has done it amazingly well while adding his own touch.
I always thought those 'whale' sounds at the beginning of the solo were synths, but I think Zakk is just using swells. That last flurry of notes also sounds punched in, but you'd never know in the mix.
So is this track an actual single guitar or is it the track on the recording? I just now learned that tone in a band setting sounds like shit when you play it solo. Weird!
Zakks emg,the gibson, his bastard pedal ,a wah but what amp does he use?somebody?i cant get that damm tone.i need his fingers.i can play that damm song but not as...😬
@@brokenbread678 isnet it strange that kemper n all this high tech amps, where you get EVERY amp n every Pedal, like bias fx , or axe fx, line6 helix etc, ..you can build your tone from scratch with all stuff you can ask for n it sounds dope, but a old 800 Marshall tower cranked up just ..blows you away.
@@zsaz4453 nothing beats an old school tubed monster. I like the new stuff as well. The pedals my generation has access to nowadays compared to zakks generation is crazy.
