I'm pretty sure in this song Randy kept his wah pedal on somewhere in the middle. This is not the same sound he'd have for Crazy Train and most of the other songs. Rudy Sarzo flat out stated that there were songs played live where Randy would turn on his wah and leave it on cocked somewhere in the middle and Sarzo also said most people did not know this.

Randy Rhoads was absolutely brilliant in every way. Impeccable songwriting where there was never a wasted note or one too many. His rhythm playing was totally off the rails and his blistering leads were just as memorable as the main riff of the songs. Those amazing fills that were thrown in with split second timing between the riffs(especially live) was the cherry on top. There's never been anybody like him before or since. There's a reason Ozzy's setlist has remained 75 percent Rhoads era material 40 years later even though he was only with him a few short years with two albums. Such an extraordinary talent that struck like a bolt of lightning and then was gone.
@stringtheoryguitars4952
@stringtheoryguitars4952 2 года назад
Was just going to mention this; Randy's fills on this song are incredible because there's no open space. He's chugging those 16th notes like a machine gun and somehow fitting in some melodic runs that never lose intensity. Randy was absolutely unique and so talented.

Ozzy should praise the Gods for Randy Rhoads. His career would have been over after he was kicked out of Sabbath. He never had a good voice, always screwed up the lyrics (which he didn't write) and had horrible stage presence. All he had going for him was RR, the original Blizzard lineup and the stupid prince of darkness shtick.

I agree with the original comment. There is no comparing Randy Rhoads with Jake E. Lee. Lee was a great guitar player but the closest he came to matching Randy's greatness was the song Bark at the Moon. Brad, good in his own right, but he was playing the guitar parts of Rhoads and Iommi. So without any original content to judge him by, he really can't be included in a list of Ozzy's great guitarists. And really, that list is short. Randy Rhoads is at the top. Jake second. After that, eh, no real opinion. There's squealy boy but I just can't get into him as a person, or at least the person he has become.

like after hours, Randy solos and they focus on Rudy... Randy here is going on with the gothic setup they have here, they took Randy and put the bracelets on him, the black leather, the chains around his waist.... it's funny Randy said when he was young him and Kelly garni used to laugh at black Sabbath over there looks on stage, u know Sabbath's image, so it's pretty cool that Randy just adapted that stage look here with Ozzy as a solo act. Randy and Ozzy both said that they worked great with each other cause they came from diff. musical backgrounds...I am not dissing Randy here at all, he's one of the best ever....just pointing out that his image suited the stage production if they have over the mountain the first song in the setlist, they must have other complete songs from this show?
