Thank you for the video series on this beast, very insightful. I have this kit on order at the moment, I enjoy challenging kits and from your descriptions, this fits the build nicely. Totally understand your rationale for shelving her, especially given the multiple projects and your limited time. Great videos and always good to learn new skills and techniques.
I'm seriously impressed by those Red Fox decals! Good choice to drop the trumpeter kit though...I've had it with them...can't wait to see what you'll do with the Tamiya kit. Bring it on!
Great review of the Red Fox upgrade set. it is good to see more of these 3D options becoming available, and comparing to Eduard PE, these look dated now. I have the Quinta Studios upgrade set for my Kinetic F/A-18A/C/D Aggressor but will definitely consider the Red Fox for my Tamiya F-15J. BTW, I thought I misheard when you said "Red Fox" the first time 😄
Alright! Practice run for that Tamiya Lightning then! 😂 Yet still, you just slapped some paint on a totally inaccurate cockpit and it STILL looks decent. 😄 Nice to see those Red Fox details pop. I just visited their site and can only hope they extend into 1/48 as well. 👌🏼
Matt the interior green is used in the US Army MERDC scheme from the 70’s -80’s, which is why its labeled armor, as far as I know it’s the same as the cockpit green
When you compare that to the old Revell kit I did it's dam near flawless haha. I hate and love photo etch parts. Love how they look hate putting'em in.
@@DoogsModels No kidding? Yeah I couldn't stick to that one, cause they're so many kits I dreamed of being able to actually have "one-day" when I was a kid. So for me there's this nostalgic kick I love falling into with the older ones. Plus I think your building skills are based on what you learned on so for me anyway it seems I don't know easier? Even though I know it's actually more work to turn those oldies into a gem. My Revell 1/32 P-38 build beat out a Tamiya F-15 back in 95 for a 1st place trophy at our local IPMS show. So it turned out ok I guess haha.
Matt Thanks for the video on the Red Fox and updating on the new 1/32 F-15C they are offering. Just ordered it and lastly sorry bout the prior comments, damn space went into pause mode wft?
think it's part of the printing process - only cockpit detail things I've ever seen that are dead smooth are Yahu's panels. But I will say, these smoothed out super well with a flat coat.
