On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Same tbh with all aircraft including the types that never had chance to fly I do wonder if it's possible to take the 3D models from il2 1946 and other games tbh would make the process of adding them in even easier be very interesting to see a invasion of Japan alt history or invasion of the west of the US alt history just to see the crazy designs of aircraft used

According to records, the Zero's favorite tactic was a climbing tight turn. In such a situation, a pursuer will quickly run out of speed and the Zero would just loop around and kill them. In Boyington's case he got jumped by a bunch of Zeroes and he tried to fight them instead of disengaging. Sometimes pride or overconfidence gets even the most experienced pilots. Look at what happened to McGuire in the P-38. He got low and slow with a Zero while carrying drop tanks!

I LOVE ANYTHING WWII!! I would love to see more. I would love to see P-38s Corsairs hellcats wildcats and air cobras. I hope that all of WWII is covered in DCS. Great video GS keep them coming Boss.

This is a great idea. The pacific is a completely neglected theatre. If ED did a Hellcat, Corsair, and Zero, I think that would be great start in building interest and they could follow on with a lot of other modules afterward.

These are my favorite videos - the only thing missing is the smell and the sneaky sharks beneath the waves. A WW2 night fight would probably be too difficult to show, but the flames certainly would be hauntingly beautiful. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

The quick firing dual purpose 5" guns on USN ships were pretty damn effective with radar and computerized aiming. Later in the war they also had proximity fuses so the USN had AA protection that was down right murderous compared to what the IJN ever managed. For instance, it is claimed that IJN Yamato only shot down 10 USN aircraft during the massive attack that saw Yamato destroyed, and out of those 10, at least half of them were destroyed by Yamato's magazine detonation as a formation was flying over the ship when it exploded. It has been said that Yamato's magazine detonation was the largest man made explosion until the Trinity nuclear test.

When u think about it they really wasn't death traps not until the hellcat and other newer designs were produced and even then the Zero was upgraded by wars end to carry even heavier Armament including air to air rockets and decent armour for dealing with bomber aircraft

@@CakePrincessCelestia in War Thunder it certainly is. You can carve through an enemy team with them, it's an incredible plane. However a small burst of .50s or even rifle caliber bullets and it will catch on fire nearly instantly.

Loved the video @Growling Sidewinder! Can't wait for the next video man! I would love to see some Pacific War Maps or even an entire campaign for the Pacific War in DCS. Would love to see some Attack Transport Ships (APA's) and Attack Cargo Ships (AKA's) dropping off Landing Craft with Troops, Tanks and Supplies for the Amphibious Landings, maybe even see the Fletcher and Allen M. Sumner-class Destroyers providing Fire Support or Screening the Transports as well. Also, being able to take control of one of the many Ships on either side of the war would be cool as well!

I would absolutely support this. I'd love it even more if ED (or somebody) would hurry up and produce a Late Model of the P-38 Lightning. It would serve both Air-to-Air roles as well as ground attack roles. What an awesome aircraft, especially with the P-51 on the Team.

HEY GS! I love your channel, man! You're a natural entertainer, and I think you've done an outstanding job of teaching tactics. I never knew about 1 circle and 2 circle engagements before I came across your channel. Here are two ideas I think you and your viewers might also enjoy.... 1. How about a series on gunnery? Does DCS allow you to adjust planes' gunsights, or are they fixed in place? If they're adjustable have you ever explained how to adjust them? If they're fixed, how about exploring the skill of deflection shooting? When I think of that I think of Canadian WWII ace George Beurling. It was said of him, "Beurling excelled at anticipating enemy manoeuvres in the air and in deflection shooting, which involves firing ahead of a moving target so the target and the bullets eventually collide." He was credited with 27 kills in just two weeks while stationed on Malta. So maybe you could taxi a few planes a set distance from a stationary object and fire for effect to see the bullets' pattern and destructive effects. Then you and Longshot could go up and shoot each other from different distances and angles with various planes to demonstrate the skills. Just a few thoughts. 2. How about a series on evasion? Showcase techniques for getting a bandit off your six and back in your sights. Especially with the WWII planes I think you'd do an excellent job with both of these topics. What do you think?

From what I've read, the Zero damage model might be too tough. From a first hand account I read of a Japanese ace, he suggested the Zero would be almost guaranteed to crash if hit with 10 rounds of 0.50 cal. Great video as always!

Love to see these Iowa class ships in their original camo. I work on the New Jersey. Wisconsin and Missouri featured in 1943 loadout would have had 10 5in/38 dual purpose mounts, 16 quad 40mm Bofors mounts, and 49 Oerlikons all filling the sky with steel. In 1945 the number of guns was increased as 4 more quad 40mm Bofors mounts and 8 more 20mm Oerlikons were added. If you are ever interested to learn more, please check us out.

Great to have a video to demonstrate how Pacific Theatre in DCS can work. I'd support it. As Leatherneck Productions are working on the Corsair already I'd like to see the Zero and Hellcat as the first DCS airframes for the Pacific. Hopefully the completion of the Mossie willhelp open the development pathway for the P-38 that could be used for ETO and PTO.

Love the Hellcat, but I would rather see the Wildcat first with the Zero. That would be more an even match, Hellcat out performs the Zero in nearly every aspect. It'd make the Pacific simulator look like the Marinas Turkey Shoot daily. Of course, you start adding airframes like the Tony, then the Hellcat isn't as potent.

Oh my grandfather flew PBY’s in the Pacific and he always felt that the scariest things you could see over the horizon we’re zeros or a pagoda mast. The pagoda mast looked like a floating sky scraper oh and it was always bristling with guns.

Don't forget that at the beginning of the war, no one except the Germans had any idea about modern air combat. They were the only ones who flew in a finger-4 formation for example and the idea of energy-fighting and boom-n-zoom was not yet developed. Thatch's weave was only invented during the war, as was the tactic for the P38 to run through enemy formations without turning.

P51 was an interesting choice to fly in a theater where the top two US aces of WWII were both P38 pilots. Still, nice video. Wish I had a pc capable of running this game.

It would be hard to get low and slow with a Zero in a P-51, but in a Wildcat it would be much easier, especially at the start of the war when the Americans had essentially no combat experience using outdated WWI tactics against the battle hardened Japanese who had been fighting their way across Asia for the past decade. Zeroes used to like to bait Wildcats into chasing them into a climb, where the Wildcats would stall out and give the Zeros easy kills. Once the Hellcats started rolling of the lines, those tricks didn't work anymore.
