Good lad for leaving the army and choosing plumbing. If you’re reading this mate, I went through the same thing. No one gave me the time or day as I was older. After a few years now, after almost giving up, after blagging it, grafting, messing up…I can finally enjoy it. Just keep your head down, listen and enjoy the journey!

Great to see you doing well. Running is deffo for you if keeping your mind free of that mental fog a lot of men get. Also great to see you and Marcus back together again. And as we all expect from you looking after people trying to get into the trade. Well done P.B and Marcus and all involved.

Hi Pete and Marcus it is nice you again I really enjoy watching your videos I have watched all you video you publish so far. This first time I ever comment. I just want to share my experience and say that ideal can also change the heat input in 6 settings from 12kw to 35kw. That boiler is the ideal icos HE12. The same boiler you unblock the condense trap on your 73 video dated on 14 Nov 2031

Hey Pete, I generally don't comment on videos on RU-vid, to be fair this is my first. Thank you for the content I am always learning. I was in a similar boat as Marcus, I didn't do as long but I can agree that it is daunting leaving the army into a trade you know nothing about! I did the same as him with a quick access however I would like to say there is a company outside of Leeds that is longer and guarantees a work placement for a month which is where I got my first job with a social housing contract, really helped get my foot in the door. Anyway again thank you for the knowledge you are willing to pass on, as I have said I have learnt a lot from just watching you're (and other) plumbing content Regards

Nice one PB and Marcus for giving this lad a chance, not all short course lads are wasters and chancers, there will always be some that slip through the net but army lads are grafters and work in a particular way because they are institutionalised, first lad I worked with when I was training said to me "why do you run everywhere" 😂 ...because I'm on a course and training so I want to get the job done and follow your instructions to a Tee. I've been in the industry for about 16 years now, worked for Ideal for 11 and Vaillant for 3, went self employed in 2019 and never looked back, servicing and breakdown was my background so watching videos like yours is a great way of picking up ideas etc...

Hi Pete, Love your videos. For your sake get yourself a roof ladder and safety harness. We used to climb roofs without a harness but for what they cost it’s well worth the money. Wouldn’t want to see you splat on the patio. Also, can you do a video on your thoughts on the new Part L regs. Thanks, Slatts

Pete this is going to sound strange, but try Absorbine gel which is a horse liniment for your knee. I have been using it for about 10 years and use it every day, same as you I was a plumber and the damp and winter weather used to seize my knees up, since using the damp and cold have disappeared and enabled me to take off my knee supports when I was running.

Such a mess of a situation with the ex army lads trying to get into the industry. He got qualified in 6 weeks but doesn’t have a bit of experience. Pretty crazy he can now go self employed and go into peoples homes doing gas work. Needs to be more done to support these people who go through these courses to get them the relevant experience and help with getting a job where they can get actual support. Sounds like they are just getting the qual then they’re abandoned.

Why use a boiler with such a high output if it’s only serving a few rads ??
@ebebop
@ebebop 2 года назад
It’s a combi. They are sized for the hot water performance. Then in some cases the ch out put is then reduced to suite the rads.
@Si_H
@Si_H 2 года назад
Yeah I get that but why not fit a 24/5kw combi instead of a 32? Is the flow rate from a 32 really that much better? We must be only talking a couple of litres per minute more??
@ebebop
@ebebop 2 года назад
@@Si_H not so much the flow rate but come winter when the incoming water is colder that’s when you notice the difference the most.
