India's P. C. Sorcar Jr. in a guest appearance on John Fisher's The Best of Magic from 26th September 1990. From The MagicWeek Video Archive www.magicweek....
There was a time in India when someone said Magician, others would end it with PC Sorcar. As a kid in Mumbai, Posters of PC Sorcar and Rajkamal circus were all my childhood.
I remember being at a show of his, and he performed the exact same segment with random members of the audience. My father was one of the chosen volunteers and he was asked to write a sentence on the board for him to respond to. He wrote "Sir, you are really great. Thank you." and before he could even finish, PC Sorcar Jr.'s answer was already typed out as "My father was better". What a legend!
@@movie-sight......996 He sure is a Bangali but not a Bangladeshi. He has nothing to do with two nation theory and East Pakistan but the Bangladeshis sure has
@@ArKu47 lol why ur ass is burning i just stated facts . If he would have born in today's Bangladesh, he wouldn't have been alive in the first place since u ppl kill ed most of the hindus in ur country .
@@MaDMaXfc7 f###off kanglu...he and his family are Hindu and out and out Indian. Anyone subscribing to Bangladeshi identity, identifies with two nation theory and are from converted class of desert cultists. And Sorkar and co. definitely doesn't support all that bull$#!t.
Apart from his magic, he is literally the best performer, an orator, his fluency in English is just adorable. He is a perfect package as a magician..👌👌👍👍
I was barely 6 or 7 when he came to our city for a magic show and I had the opportunity to watch this legend performaning live on the stage. During this trick, he'd chosen the participants from us, the audience and few people including my mom were called on the stage to do these things. My mom gave him a Bengali word and he made a complete sentence of it. Even to this day, this trick blows my mind.
I have met him personally as a child and he's extremely charming. He came to my city for a show and I've watched him after my father got tickets for us. The day after, he visited my neighbor's handicrafts store and I didn't miss the opportunity. We spoke for 10 mins and he was extremely humble.
I was lucky enough to be in this selected crowd in a show during 2002. I wrote down my home landline number with Standard code and he finished the writing at the same time and told me be real quick while writing as others are waiting
I remember he came to my town to do a show. We had to vacate the largest warehouse to accommodate his show. Crowd was so great that I cannot even reach him to take an autograph. He is not only a great magician but also a exceptionally good stage performer and actor. His presentation was mesmerizing. He is a great comedian too. He can divert your mind and eyes to whatever he wants to. He controls your mind. I specially remember one magic where he made a deliberate mistake and everyone was looking at the mistake thinking the magic trick is revealed and in then actual magic happens stunning everyone. He was laughing and we were laughing thinking that how easily we all are fooled. He even showed us one trick that how it is actually done behind the scene. Truly great person.
Yes bro other he is such a big star that other magicians have change their surname as Surkor as their stage name to take advantage of his brand value😮😮😮
Amazing! The Great Magician. I have seen P C Sorkar's show in my childhood. My father took me & my brother to watch his show. I remember clearly we watched his show. I refreshed my memory watching this VDO. Thank You.
I had an opportunity to witness P C Sorcar Jr's magic show in a hall in Broadway in Chennai long long back I think about 30 to 35 years back, & he is simply stunning!
For those who don't know his father is known as jadusamrat( in English it is emperor of magic). His father has a very iconic and legendary magic demonstration in Japan after that he got that title
I had the privilege of seeing his show with my parents when I was a child. And i got the opportunity to shake his hands. It was a lovely experience 🎉🎉🎉
I feel you should express your emotions in your mother tongue, If not then at least don't throw a bad impression by writing the wrong English. Because of you, I am writing in a language that I don't speak often.
This is one of the acts he performed in a show I went back when I was a Kid. My Father Volunteered from the Audience to take part in the Act. It's been three years since his passing and seeing this clip was indeed a fantastic nostalgia trip. ❤️

PC Sarkar! I'll tell one of his great magic tricks that my grandmother used to tell me. Once he was travelling by train and at the station, everyone was waiting for his arrival, but the train was 5mins late. When the train finally stopped at the station, he came out and told everyone to look at their watch and by everyone's surprise, the train was on time! Everybody was shocked even the station's clock timing was showing that the train was on time! I never believed the story until today when I watched this video. He's truly an incredible magician India has ever produced!! Jai Hind!
I was probably 7 years old when he came to our city back in 2009 or 10 , and he did the same exact trick that he did here , his manner of selecting people from the crowd was also the same , and I was the little one there and I drew a "+" on the blackboard that he drew himself from it . He's such a charming person ❤️
@@FocusDr This is his son, PC Sorcar Junior. His dad was the OG. Most people from our grandfather's age knew him. It was actually PC Sorcar Sr who revolutionized it all.
I saw him live when I was a kid growing up in the 90s. What a magical time. PC Sorcar is a living legend. This video is yet another example of that fact.
We went to see his live show when i was a kid, he used to throw tennis balls into the crowd to get random people on the stage. My mother caught the ball, and he drew her face while blindfolded.
I remember about 40 years back when I was very a child. I attended one function of PC Sorcar (Senior). In that function, he arrived almost half an hour late. People were irritated. He arrived and said, "Had to rush, just on time". People were shouting and telling him that he was late. He said, "Late ? Check your watches". People saw that the time was 7 pm sharp. Actually the time was around 7:40. What a charismatic way to start a show !
@@robertmitchell8630 yes. I can choose to not be proud as a national of my birth country if it feels so. What do you think? Is it north korea or Saudi do we live in?
@@kalabhairava56 All proud to be Indians , proud to be Muslims , proud to be African but given the first opportunity to go to any western nation and do the lowest jobs there they on their way Tons of pride
He was still a student in final year MSc. His father PC Sarkar ( Pratul Chandra Sarkar) who was conferred the title of world's greatest magician by the Japanese was performing on stage in Tokyo and died while performing of a massive heart attack. PC Sarkar junior( Pradip Chandra Sarkar): had to continue with the show since there was a signed contract with the Japanese. He continued with the show for the rest of the days to fulfill the contractual obligations. Great son of a great father . My deep respect for both of them.🎉🎉🎉
Once missed a chance to witness this Bengali legends magic show in my childhood 😢....but now RU-vid recommended this out of nowhere not gonna miss this one😊
He can draw blindfoled thats the trick.. Many people can draw nice art by there closed eyes.. But yes in front of audience and practicing it and making it perfect is commendable. He is true artist
People he brought on stage would have already rehearsed with him and be a part of his act... That's what's logical about what he does with the math calculating the sum beforehand. But that takes skill to draw and write properly. He might still have gaps near his nostrils, even with the dough and would cover them up later when he is about to end his act.
@iamCGM exactly. The trick is definitely sumn else. A lot to do with hearing i guess. We had the privilege of witnessing his performance a multiple times here in Bengal and each time, he did this particular trick with random audience. My brother once went up to the stage and gave him a letter on the board. It used to be amazing tbh. To watch him perform live will always be a blessing.
@@simply_neuroscience Yup. I also think that he hears the sound of the chalk very carefully and has prev. studied the sound signature that would be created in writing diff. numbers and letters
Even to this day, I doubt if any magician in India could match the calibre of PC Sarkar. Today we don't know the names of most magicians in our country but in childhood days, even my parents knew Magician= PC Sorcar.
i heard of P. C. Sorcar in late 80s and 90s during childhood years in Shillong but never had chance to see his magic, even then I feel he is part of my life.
