I'm definitely hooked. I'm getting so much pleasure from these readings. Well, much more than narration, you are a whole cast of characters in these books that feel like plays. Excellent fun. Hi from Oz. 👇💜🙃
The fine description of the aunt and her front room broke me in two. My goodness, I was fighting for breath. What-ho, indeed. Thank heavens for Jeeves.A splendid rendition. Thank you so much fr this posting.
I have a feeling that something is not working correctly with my channel here. One thing is that comments are disappearing and possibly some being blocked. It would be great if someone could just try replying to this - to see if it works . I would like to be sure all is well before I record any more. Thanks Nick
Not gonna lie, Maudie is kind of my spirit animal. I have very proper, British, stiff-upper-lip in-laws, and I love them dearly, but sometimes in comparison to them I really do feel "definitely of the people" lol. They're doing their best to civilise me, but I did know about Wodehouse before I met them, which I feel should count for something.
I love stories and books on audio. And hey I think I'm your 4-Digit. Congratulations or it took 999 before I hit the button but sometimes the numbers get weird on RU-vid with the stats. Anyway looking forward to Cozy rainy afternoons curling up with my chihuahua and listening the stories playlist in Channel. Thank you peace and blessings from Blue Ridge Mountains
You are - I was in the land of nod but thought it would turn the 1k in the night. Thank you and to all the others who have subscribed to this channel. Hope you enjoy some of the other stories and more will go up in time. Keep that chihuahua tucked up! Cheers from the Cambrian Mountains (well within a stone's throw!) Nick
@@Trickynickymarts Gee Thank You! Sorry, no, I regret my comment. Your Wodehouse narrations are excellent & highly valued, transporting one to early 20th century England. The stories are clever and amusing and the characters are, I'm sure, caricatures of English nobility, i.e. the wealthy gentlemen class, nevertheless a wonderful insight to this period is gleaned. Your clear and correct articulation of the English language and talent wrt character vocalization, is absorbing. What?!
@@rezzer7918 Many thanks and I'm pleased you are enjoying them.. Another possibility is that in many ways the system did actually work and just because someone has money, it doesn't rule out that they can't be a decent and kind person. I suppose the problem then and now is when someone has money and is neither decent or kind! cheers
Unfortunately a mid winter lurgy has been around these parts and several of the characters are still suffering somewhat from a hoarseness of the throat! In particular, Aunt Agather is affected and sounds more menacing than ever! But its still a very amusing yarn and Jeeves is, as you might expect, as clear headed as ever.
It’s been a while since I heard of the dreaded lurgy. No matter, your reading was still so enjoyable. My children used to think my story telling was great but l would never attempt anything in your line. (not with my Ulster accent). Thanks for all your postings.
Goodness, I just looked in the comments and saw that you wrote you were a bit under the weather when you read this story for us 9 months ago! You were fantastic, as always. Thank you for sharing these stories, it's like having a friend here in the office when I work late. All the best.
Simply a perfect orator with a hint of Terry Jones as Brian's mum in The Life of Brian. Please read Graham Greene's Travels with my Aunt. Oh and thank you so much for sharing your rather obvious talent.
Hey Nick... love these videos! I had to comment on your user name. My daughter in law name is Nikki. My son introduced her to me, as Tricky Nikki 😀😆 by mistake. I thought 'oh Lord who has he brought home now.' Thank goodness she is the best DIL a mother could ask for. Thanks for the stories. Melody- Georgia, USA.
I love ❤️ your work! I wonder if you’d be interested in a story by George MacDonald titled The Broken Swords in his book the Gray Wolf & Other Fantasy stories. OR his short novel titled The Wise Woman…there is a sterilized version?
