I agree , nothing better than waking up on a cruise ship! Especially in a balcony cabin when you open the curtains and see the sea ❤ Well done for doing the trek the deck , fantastic charity,we did it on the Azura in February and hopefully they will be doing the same on our next cruise in November on the Azura yet again! Unfortunately the sunbed situation is common place wherever you go, so this forces people to be the same as everyone else and save places early! Otherwise there would be nowhere to sit later on .A vicious circle? Good on P & O for keeping passengers informed on health issues a big tick for them ! Hopefully the comedian you saw will be on our cruise. No sunset picture (tut tut)! Hopefully on the next one!!!
It is a beautiful feeling! Although my next two cruises are inside cabins so wake up and see the wall?? It is a great cause and proves that if everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot but we can make a big difference. The video is strange as it starts with the charitable side of humanity, followed by the bad quite quickly. I never really have a hard time getting a sunbed normally (although most of my cruises are off-season). Enchanted Princess was the worst by far last year! It definitely is a circle created and affecting passengers. Haha you can blame Jon for the no sunset, his show was at the same time! There is a sunset in the next one I think!
Sunbed etiquette is a pipe dream I’m afraid because huge numbers of cruisers are selfish to the core. We were on Arvia doing a Transatlantic repositioning last March so that meant 7 consecutive sunbed hogging sea days. My better half couldn’t sleep one night so took a 6am stroll on deck just as dawn was breaking and saw at least 4 individuals reserving poolside beds with towel and book and by 9am as we went for breakfast there was barely one poolside bed that had not been claimed. I once stayed in a hotel in Thailand which operated a strictly enforced policy that if the bed was empty for 30 mins everything was removed. Hey presto there was never a problem getting a bed.
It certainly does feel like that sometimes. I'm surprised it was a problem for you given the size of Arvia and this doesn't fill me with a lot of hope for my next cruise. I think the 30 minute rule is a fair one. If you're laying there and want to grab a drink or have a swim there are no issues with you keeping the sunbed but as I think I said in the video these guys were away minimum two hours. It's a problem that doesn't need to exist if everyone followed the rules, but we know that not everyone does

Thanks! It was very crowded and noisy up on the Lido but I'm sure this is the same for any ship this time of year! Everyone wants some sun. My Enchanted Princess cruise last summer was much worse than this
Great video again we had the fund raising day when i done the transatlantic on Britannia. Wonder if arvia will do anything like this in October 23 on the transatlantic which i cant wait to go on
I’m not going to lie I am a bit dubious about my upcoming Caribbean cruise on the Britannia. I don’t know about 6 consecutive sea days with carnage like that. I’m just not sure it’s going to be like the Britannia how I always remembered and loved. There were no sunbed issues years ago when I cruised with my parents. Times have really changed 😢
I think we've got used to the lower capacities following the pandemic and forgot that this was always what cruising was like? Hopefully you'll have a better experience than I did and make the most of the sun

You'd expect COVID wouldn't you but got chicken pox instead. Didn't end up affecting the cruise at all so they managed it well. I'm sorry to hear that, I know a handful as well which many have not survived.
