Here’s my James Cameron style feature-length vlog, minus blue people. Not discriminating, just haven’t come across any yet! Enjoy a whole week on a cruise with us 🚢🚢🚢
What are the chances we will see Travel Blog Matthew - Travel Counter Programming? 😆 I suspect he has several journals of entertaining stories however, he is probably under an iron-clad NDA. Thank You Jesus for the content! At times like these (super busy), it is time to utilize the Travel Blog Jamie vest with a small script 'royal warrant on file with HRH'. The staff will be waiting for you before you arrive. 👑
What time did you arrive for check in please? We have a check in time of 3.30pm but have to be dropped off around 12.30pm. Do you think we'll be allowed to board earlier than are allocated time? Love the vlogs 😀
Hi Jamie, have you ever been on Arcadia? I can’t seem to find any videos. Myself and parter will be on it next year for the 16 night Iceland/Norway cruise. Have you ever experienced this?
yet another winner - LOVED this one Jamie! another ‘laugh out loud’ moment in this one (the comment about going up the tower if you want to poop your pants…hilarious!) I wasn’t keen to go on Iona but this might make me think differently. So lovely to see more of Maffoo in this video.. love you guys..thanks so much for all the incredible amount of work you put into making these vlogs for us. much appreciated (Thank you Jesus) xx
Brilliant vlog, as always, Jamie. We’re going on this same cruise in December and you’ve given us some great tips for things to do. She really looks an amazing ship - can’t wait to go on her xx
LOVE this video, really funny, sat here on a cold February afternoon thinking about what to book for summer and I think it’s going to be Iona 😊 you cheered me up, thank u Jesus
Always love your vlogs. Always entertaining however I can't help feeling with your champagne and chocs vloggers seem to get special treatment/upgrades and perks. Keep up the good work. 👍👍
@@imnotbeingfunnybut9448 appreciate that - it’s never asked for or expected, but certainly a nice gesture from a company to do that and recognise the extra custom you can bring in / advertising you do for them
Loved this vlog. Been on Iona twice but always love seeing/hearing other people’s opinions on her. Hope to bump into you on the Feb 10th cruise next month. Ps worst thing I could say to my mother-in-law “you can have him back!” 🤣🤣
Love love love this vlog Jamie, so funny. Great to see lots of familiar faces, including Judith, Paul, Carole and Paul and to see lots more of Matthew too in this one. , How was the poo soup? (I'm sure that's what she said!) 🤣 Can't wait to do this cruise next year, thanks for all the tips xx 😊
We missed you on this cruise! Thank you for your kind comments and yes, even maffoo appears now and then 😂 The poo soup was quite thick and fragrant 😂 roll on easter!!
Hi Jamie, how do I access you other cruising blogs? Do you have a blog re booking restaurants prior to boarding or do we have to do that on board? It’s been quite a while since we have cruised and it appears things have changed quite a bit. Thank you 😊
Hi Liz - have you subscribed? I’ve got over 300 cruise / travel vlogs on my channel. I’ve got a vlog called ‘my holiday all’ which shows you how to book everything once on board. You can book some things 2 weeks in advance in your P&O account too
Love the look of Iona. Think this will have to be my first cruise with my boyfriend. He would definitely have to stop me going ott at the shops on board and if he disappeared on board I know where he'll be like Matthew. I would definitely goto the top of the tower in Rotterdam, absolutely love heights having been to the top of the Shard in London and the London eye and also the I360 in Brighton. Definitely want to get back to Amsterdam as was meant to do it for my 40th birthday back in 2020 but the certain C happened. But hopefully soon as want to go back on the splashtours (the amphibious bus that can go from the road into the river) Think if I remember from online Rotterdam has one too. Many thanks for a brilliant video.
I’m only 11 minutes into your vlog and you have already had to wait for a drink more than a half hour twice! Everywhere on that ship is SO crowded. I’ve never been on a cruise and I’m thinking of booking my first. A ship like this though, although it seems there is everything you would like, you have to wait so long, I feel sure I would hate it!!!
On Iona this time next week, fortunately for a fortnight, so may possibly learn how to work the app. by then ! This is a great help, thanks, and generally very encouraging. Still not sure if I'm going to get away with the MDR/Chef's Table on 'celebration' nights; happily packing decent shirts & ties, but not a jacket - any thoughts ? Efforts much appreciated, Jamie !
Hi Jamie, new to the channel and cruising (booked our first one on the Iona to the Fjords next year) and I had a quick question about your food reviews. You seem to give things either a 1 star or a 2 star, is 1 okay and 2 great? Or is the food all just 2 out of 5 stars!!!??
Hi David! I explain the star rating at the beginning of the vid but I think a few folk missed it so I’m glad you asked. I have a thumbs down = poor, 1 Star = standard, 2 Star = tasty and 3 Star = exceptional
It was so nice watching you on Iona, she’s such a lovely ship. The Northern Europe cruise is fab. I went on Iona to do that cruise in Oct 21 when the restrictions were still on and we didn’t get to Hamburg. I’m going to Hamburg on Qv in April. 🤞 The same excursions are available on Cunard, so funny to see. Love Rotterdam. I’ve never been to Blankenburg. Maybe next time as I’ve been to Bruges so many times. Thank you Jamie.
Really enjoyed watching this, we are off on this cruise on Saturday. Cannot wait. By the way the pizzas in The Olive Grove are some of the best I think I have ever had x
Got to the end! Many thanks. Loved the guide to Rotterdam as we’re overnight there too in September. On Arvia in April but don’t think it’s the same date as you unfortunately. We’re 16th.
So great to interview people who are happy and actively enjoying their cruise (such a contrast with some of the tripadvisor reviewers). Having been on Iona myself I’d say your observations are spot on. I’m on Arvia repositioning out of Barbados in a couple of weeks and really looking forward to experience the ship in tropical heat. Great vlog keep up the good work
We enjoyed this video so much, maybe because we cruised Iona last year too, your videos just keep getting better. Must say we have watched so many that we are now trying to guess what you're both having for evening meals 😂
I'm sure I am late to the viewing, but I have enjoyed this look at the P&O Iona. Do you film using a go pro? I noticed you filmed in the shower at the spa and wondered......nosey woman :) I'm watching your many Southampton hotel videos and preparing for a trip in 2024
Gutted that they’re changing the amount of alcohol you can take on board 😭 me and my partner are going on our first cruise this year due to my mum and dad saying how amazing their cruise was but now we can’t take our own alcohol on unless it wine or beer 😢 5:17
That’s still more than most cruise lines allow buuut also have you had the official email from P&O yet? The info circulating on line was not sent out officially from P&O - it was leaked info.
Hi Jamie, hope you and your family are well :) I’m on Iona at the moment, and I couldn’t agree more, Sydney, one of the Sindhu Waiters is amazing! I’ve had him multiple times during my cruise, and he’s definitely going in my feedback form towards the end of my cruise! :) Glad you and Mathew enjoyed your cruise :) Best Wishes, The Lone Cruiser
Wow I finally made it to the end! It's been my morning train journey viewing so its taken a bit longer to get through 😂 I have looked at this particular itinerary a few times in Feb half term, might look again, it looked a fun week!
Thoroughly enjoyed that Jamie and Mafoo :-) Made me smile when you said what was on your plate for breakfast, and you said you didnt know why you were telling us, as we can see it - I cant, Im blind haha - so, works for me :-) Never been on Iona, have been thinking about it, and feeling quite positive about it now - so, thanks for such a great and informative blog...Terry z
@@TravelBlogJamie oh gosh..not a mistake at all Jamie, it made me smile, thats why I mentioned it. I LOVE following all your vlogs, and enjoy the longer ones the most...take care x
Brilliant video, I'm on this same itinerary in october this year and can't wait to get aboard iona and visit these lovely places. It will only be my 2nd cruise but I'm hooked already so have been watching loads you videos( as well as a few other well known cruise bloggers) I've been getting plenty of tips and also ideas of places to try
Really enjoyed this Vlog, we are going on Iona again soon. Remembering seeing you on Iona when it only sailed around the France/Spain in August 2021. Can you purchase the drinks package onboard? Thanks for all the vlogs xx Can't wait for the Med one.
Winner winner!!! Love the longer vlog. If I had to wait 40 minutes for a drink and others got served before me, I would be really upset as well! That’s unacceptable!!! Employee shortage is one thing, rudeness is another! OMG the pool in cold weather? You brave guys lol
We are going on Iona in April next year for our Golden Wedding Anniversary, any recommendations as to which restaurant would be good to celebrate. Biggest ship we’ve been on but so looking forward to it.😊
Have subscribed so looking forward to seeing your reviews. Just watching your week on Iona, hopefully won’t be so busy when we go in April, loving this one 😊
Hi guys, cruise virgin here so need all the tips I can get, is the drinks package worth it, I'm not a big drinker, few beers, maybe a cocktail, I'm more a soft drink fan, do you pay extra for room service? 😊
This vlog was better than a movie 🎥 absolutely loved it!! We were on Iona in September and she is a great ship… with one of the best captains👨✈️ ever, I also had a fan girl moment when I saw Captain Wesley too 😅
Big thumbs up for Sidney when he served us last December he'd only been with P&O a few weeks. Never worked for a cruise company before. He was very friendly and polite. Thanks Jamie for another quality vlog
Ha ha, funny to see myself waving at you in Sindhu! Kept seeing you around the ship but I was too shy to say hello until I’d had a little drinkie-poo!! 😂
@@TravelBlogJamie thank you for taking time to answer me my sister and I have been talking about taking a cruise to Norwegian fjords I have only once been abroad we went together to Euro Disney we loved it that was years ago but watching your travel blog we really want to try a cruise the fjords look stunning
We were on this cruise and your summing up was spot on! Never would’ve guessed how many were on board in actual fact I think we were served quicker than when we were on her last January with only 2,500! Looking forward to more of your vlogs and it was a pleasure meeting you.
Thanks for this review and looking forward to joining the Iona in May half term with two of our children …just a bit nervous as our eldest is in an electric wheelchair and it looks a bit frenetic…and I’m used to booking speciality Restaurants before we sail .
Is that a fjords cruise? We’ll be in that in May half term! I think it should be fine in terms of space / getting around in a wheelchair. Most frenetic on embarkation day so expect that one to be quite busy I’d say
