P&O Ventura - Day 2 - Cabin Tour & arriving into Amsterdam 

The outside prom deck is my favourite thing about Ventura - she’s the first ship I’ve been able to get all the way to the front!

Just back from our Amsterdam cruise yesterday and thankfully all went well transport wise from Belfast to ship and back again. I won’t be a spoiler for your vlogs but that sail into Amsterdam through the locks and sailing toward the city was a fabulous experience. So many pictures and videos taken. Funnily enough I had eggs Benedict in Saffron for brekkie before the locks. First time trying that and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely vlog.

Just come off Iona 2 nd time but decided we prefer a smaller shop like Ventura so booked back on that . Iona not our first choice even though it’s very modern and beautiful , just too many people 5200

I am planning to go on the mini break in September but wanted to know did you choose the saver deal or select price?

how long did it take from the lock to the port?

We are just back form the same cruise 31st May to 4th June and the cruise was quite honestly abysmal...It was supposed to be a Royal Jubilee Cruise...No Sail Away...No Bunting, Flags or anything else...Jubilee Wine £36 a bottle...2 nights in port 2nd night until midnight so no casino on those 2 nights (50% of the cruise)...entertainment non existent or cancelled (where were the 6.45 shows we pre-booked or the comedian we pre-booked)...Astonishing show is in its 4th year now we have seen it so many times...what has happened to the west end style shows and tribute bands...there were none just solo singers...the happiest show on board was the karaoke, the only time i saw people actually enjoying themselves...This is honestly the worst entertainment on any P&O cruise I have ever witnessed...I asked reception why there was no SAILAWAY...the lady responded they havent had any on the Ventura since she joined the ship in January...Britannia is still having them...Ihave to say this trip was as dull as ditchwater and P&O will sorely have to improve if they are to continue with these 4 day trips to Amsterdam...Everything that was promised pre sailing was non existent and for anyone who cruises regularly the SAILAWAY is an important part to the start of the trip...Even the usual welcome in the ATRIUM was non existent...The Casino staff, the stewards, the waiting staff and the bar staff were all excellent as usual but what was with the entertainments team...only 1 shone out as having any personality or the basic ability to read...that was the Irish Lady Leanne...the rest were awful with absolutely no personality....This is an honest take on the cruise and everybody has different views and experiences...mine were not particularly bad or outrageous just extremely disappointing that on such a poignant occasion as the Platinum Jubilee there was no patriotism, nothing special, total apathy and one of the luxury lounges used for covering Scotland vs Ukraine football and then cancelling the evening entertainment...I always pick P&O where i can but they have been getting progressively worse...this is not COVID related as we cruised on the Britannia last August and again last September where there was a SAILAWAY and good entertainment despite still having restrictions...those trips werent faultless but were markedly better than this trip and with superb entertainments staff...there is no point in talking to P&O customer services, you cant ring them and they dont answer emails (in my experience) and yes I have already booked my next trip on IONA...so it is sadness and a kind of disbelief that what should be so good is allowed to be so badly organised and providing disappointment rather than the WOW factor. Im sure this is not how you want this cruise to be viewed but telling the truth is very important...Im not sure when you went but the food looks identical but the ship appears very quiet...on our cruise it was rammed with kids (nothing wrong with that) and the buffet was sometimes hard to find a seat...the better restaurants were all fully booked when we tried to get a table...the canal cruise was also fully booked...you mention comedians on board in the theatre...nope none just solo singers...no variety at all in fact...we were in port for an excessive amount of time arriving 430pm on Day 2 and leaving at Midnight on Day 3 so all in all not much time for the onboard stuff...these videos filmed at quiet times are ok but they dont tell the whole story...
