This video talks about the similarities and differences between P-POP and K-POP. Feel free to comment on any clarification and correction. #ppop #kpop #similaritiesanddifferences
Lol! Ppop is most likely influenced by western pop and Jpop that's why Ppop idols always use handled mic rather than Clip/Lapel mic that is to highlight the beauty of their vocal dynamics and harmonization. ALMOST all are using Handled Mics when performing. Kpop's most selling point is their visual (K beauty) and synchronized dance while Ppop is the vocal dynamics and harmonization
Kaya nga tinawag tayong little brown americans kasi sinusunod natin western culture style. Its slap on the face if they say we copied from our neighbors and yet their template is western music. We're a poor country and its expected we lack the technical resources and funding for artist. If KPOP were not supported by their government you can't see Kpop on the map. But still Filipinos have our own ways and you cannot ignore talent.
PPOP - You cannot be one if you cannot sing. They were selected skillfully. All can sing and dance.. Not just added for visual. SB19 is a complete package of PPOP that is why they are the PPOPKINGS. They are live monsters even in accapela singing plus bonus VISUALS! compose of 5 main vocals.
For me, Ppop is more interesting because of it's raw talent shown in every stage performances. Singing live while dancing is not an easy thing to do. It's insane level of talent. Kpop produce good quality of music but not as raw as Ppop. Ppop has similarities in Kpop in many aspects but Ppop is way ahead
@@newjeans8285 They are not considered Ppop because of their Korean handler but they are still all Filipino by blood except one with Thai or Malaysian blood.
was about to say this bec. sa umpisa palng ng vid sabi influence ang Ppop ng kpop😂 haler! Ph hugely influenced by the west!! and noon pa may OPM na tayo🎉
Ppop more hype now because, just like sb19, there synchronized and stable in vocal and lit.. but kpop focus in dance, and how synchronized and also there beauty standards...
Big difference are : - PPop low budget and marketing though more talented in every aspect. Ph has been for years rill now dominating international competitions in both singing and dancing. - No lip synch in any performance for PPop - KPop relies mostly on stage productions and visuals - KPop sense of beauty is homogenous. No diversity and one nember eerily looks similar to the other. PPop can have a wider demograph of visuals from Western looking, mongoloidal or Austronesian, Afronesian, mix ethnicity etc... - Matter of time before PPop catches up in global popularity with KPop.
I agree Ppop rely on inborn talent, so you can hear quality vocals and natural swag, something you can just trained for 5 years . Plus Ppop Idol are expected to sing Live in all performances. Kpop - Visual become priority
For me is the live vocals or live singing performances, what's the point of paying that amount of money to watch people lip sync 😐 I rather just listen to the radio then..lyrics are also important, sometimes it can relate to life's experiences and can also be a strong motivation to pursue people's goals in life and those song lyrics can be written in the heart and soul of people, this can be remember from generations to generations..catchy songs is only for that moment...just my POV..
@@estelitadequina8124 actually I had only known SB 19 early this year and I don't normally listen to pop music I'm more of Rock band music listener but SB 19 is the only pop musician boy group I'm going to listen too because they are very talented musician..Pablo is my Freddie Metcury in pop music genre..if you know Freddie Mercury and Queen band then you understand what I mean..
@@estelitadequina8124 oh nice..love Queen so much,my favourite Rock band, their songs are lifetime,it can be listen and pass from generations to generations and I'm hoping that SB 19 will get into that path as well..
I do not agree that ppop is influence by kpop, because first of all before kpop we have a opm na but that time hindi na fucos Ang music natin, Lalo na Ang mga group mostly mga solo artist natin Ang nakilala like fredie aguilar, Lea at iba pa,, that why mas nakilala Ang kpop, also Ang kpop if I'm not mistaken sila ay na inspired sa jpop but like ppop hindi din na bigyan ng attention Ang jpop music
Ppop is good in dancing but for real, if u admire Kpop about their dancin' you'll admire Ppop with their Singing skills. If we talk about their different advantage, i must say Kpop for dancing and Ppop is for Singing. If u dig depper, Ppop strength is more on Singing/Vocal. But Filipino is talented, so i know they can do both more...
KPOP - best in music videos , budget and priorities in physical/visual appearances . also. Also has Good singers. But more are more better on dancing . PPOP - lack of support and budget . bless in hardwork , passion and dreams and fighting spirits . Multi tasking . multi talented. Best in fan service . almost all members in the group. Rapper/ singer .some singer/ dancer / rapper . Both KPop & PPop have disadvantages and advantages . clearly . they do'nt copy each styles. Just so happens . only similarity . some P Pop were trained by expert Koreans in entertainment. All Asian pops are inspired by European pop too.
Everybody can dance even me.. but everybody can't sing live with perfect harmonies... except Filipinos... I'm a kpop and ppop fan so I know the difference.. kpop mostly uses tweaking in voice to hit the desired note... kpop rarely do live singing even in concerts..
Dances? Almost every province in d philippines have trad dances and dance competition as welll.. In fact, for ur info philippines dominated in world hip hop stages for years🎉.. Due research be made please❤
What you dont know is that pop music genrè had long been in the Philippines. It is under the name of OPM( Original Pinoy Music). Not until SB19 emerge and make waves in global music scene and the term PPOP was born. But even before, our pop music is heavily influenced by the west. Filipino used to sing and dance the songs of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, N Sync, Westlife, Spice Girls and so much to mention. Those artists that we looked up to and listen to from the 60s 70s 80 and from 90s the JPop becomes popular in the Philippines.
At Ang ggwapo ng MAHALIMA Inside and out🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
I'm sorry but the content creator obviously don't or have a lack of knowledge about PPOP and or KPOP, pleas make it more accurate for the sake of your viewer ... really just ask us forst, jusmio!!
Personally I prefer idol who can sing really well than dancing, if you're an idol ang sing very well, in this competitive industry kahit ma disband pa Yung kinabibilangan nilang Grupo there's always place na mapupuntahan cla than just dancing Lalo Pat your like there Lang Sa Grupo because U can dance at the end of the your like a back-up dancer and dancing I don't know Pero compared to being Singer most of the time dancer is always the back-up of the Singer. Yeah when they're younger being a dancer is somehow cool Pero when you're older being a pro dancer di na Ganon ka cool, Kaya ang daming idols na na disband or they're just old to be an idol na nowhere to be found than an idol na singer U can see them sing everywhere meaning they have always place to be with.
What many people don't get is that with live singing with a static mic on your ear piece you cannot vary the distance to your mouth. That means the static mics should capture constant breathing and should sound too loud especially when trying to achieve high notes as the mic cannot be moved further to balance out the volume. That is why Live singers always have a mic and you can see them vary the distance from their mouths to mimic the post production of equalising the sound and also for effect when they are meant to be only harmonising or back ground vocals. All this cannot be done with static mics. That means all these other artists are essentially just dancing/performing. The mics are activated during the beginning to give the intro and the end to give the outro but disabled for most if not all the performance or at the most only a small amount of mic to give it a touch of "Live" sound.
Definitely, lip sync is taboo in the Philippines especially in performances, thats why they produce high quality vocals on which they are strictly trained. Most of the audience watch for the live singing and dancing at the same time…if its lip sync, they rather listen to itunes or spotify. agility and stability in both dance and vocals is the emphasis, if you watch Ppop in live concerts, everyone says its more than their moneys worth. Its just that Kpop is more popular because they've been in the music scene years before Ppop came to rise. Ppop is surely getting popular, nowadays, its not their peak of popularity yet but they’re surely getting there!
Here's my message to @princecoffee2349 in the comment section who said that P-POP is delusional: It doesn't matter if the Philippines remains a third-world country for the next 10-20 years. Look at Bollywood of India. India is not as developed as South Korea, but they were able to establish a highly reputable film industry based in Mumbai that is also recognized globally. Similar to the music industry, I see P-POP and OPM becoming BIG internationally in the next few decades. All we need to do is to SUPPORT OUR OWN. Definitely, we should condemn crab mentality, colonial mentality, and cultural inferiority (the false belief that your own culture is inferior and anything foreign from developed countries is superior) in the PPOP community if we seriously want our own industry to grow and succeed. Thank you!
Sorry to correct you. Ppop is derieved from American Pop, Kpop, and OPM or Original Pilipino Music. That is why all groups use English and Filipino language and other Filipino dialects in their songs. Before there is Kpop, Filipinos are very much into American or Western music which up until now we still do together with Ppop and Kpop. You can see it with the number of random Filipinos singing covers of songs of American or Western artists.
FIlipino music already has English ang Tag-Lish ballad and upbeat songs since the 70s and 80s. Take the case of VST&Co. Popular Filipino sing and dance group of 90s includes SexBomb and Viva hot Babe.
To be honest there's one big difference in Kpop and Ppop, and that is Kpop is going down while Ppop is going up. If Kpop didn't evolve then they will continue to fall.
Southeast Asian Pop Girlgroups 2024 (P-POP, T-POP, I-POP, M-POP and more) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HFO-uInI3gU.htmlsi=uW_xfSHWLKX2lWj-
The only difference is one's filipino and the other one's korean. They're both just products to be consumed. Whether or not one's better or worse than the other is a moot comparison. They produce what their market demands. Koreans value production and visuals, hence modern day KPop. Filipinos value vocal prowess and, at bare minimum, a certain level of musicality, hence PPop.
Ppop sanay sa hirap kyang magttiis dhil natural n lng ang sing and dance kyng pagsabayin Kya d na klngn sobrang haba ng years pra maperpekto kc natural na masasala yung mggling kumanta at sumayaw yun ang advantage ntn talo lng tayu sa quality ng MV mas mgnda lng tlga sa knila dun klngn ntn iimprove on the rise tlga dadami lalo mga ppop artist 😆
Judging from the comments, you shouldn't expect to get support from JK, BTS, blackpink, or any of the other KPOP acts by antagonizing and dissing them. KPOP is already mainstream worldwide and I don't see how PPOP can gain international recognition by antagonizing some of the biggest fandoms in the world right now. It's not smart and you're only abusing yourselves. If PPOP's international recognition hasn't improved over the years, check if this isn't the cause.
Videos like this only set idols & fans up for fanwars. Instead of bridging both communities together, y'all are contributing more to the conflict. Also please get yo facts straight and be more in depth.
KPOP - not allowed to do this and that as we want to take care of your image for fans to love you PPOP - we're gonna do what we want to do, you're just a fan know your place 😂
U cant say quality performance if they are lypsincing it where ppop are singing while dancing thats we call remarkable performances that's why kpop will going down they cannot concur there lack of talent
Say what you want to say. It takes some time before PPop can reach that level. KPOP has established first than PPop (just starting). It was in the video if you 've watch it. Kpop: worldwide, PPop: Asia. It started just a year ago after the release of gento.
SB19 was number 1 on billboard for 7 weeks beating BTS. They also won Army fan wars against the seventeen fanbase. Do your research before embarrassing yourself. 🫥 PPOP is getting more and more popular. And im happy it is. PPOP shows culture, authenticity, and humbleness. Look into SB19, the most popular filipino boy band. They have their own company and produce everything from scratch. Not saying that kpop doesn't, but SB19 is as real as it gets. Lets support both KPOP AND PPOP
