So excited my question got on the podcast - and I do remember working with Jonah - he was super chill. One time you were smoking weed in the walkway between the main theater and the Dome. A co-worker (and friend) saw you and you offered him a hit but he turned it down because he was at work. He regrets that to this day. He's a fan as well, and you getting him stoned would have not only been fun but also something he could tell his future grandkids one day. Moral of the story: if a stranger offers you drugs, always take it as long as they're a celebrity you admire. 😁 Love you!

There are a couple of straw alternatives which I find much more user friendly than metal or silicon. You can find wheat straws ( I got mlne at Ralph's). But my favorite are bamboo straws,which are sturdy and reusable and can be cleaned with pipe cleaners. I found mine locally, but I'm sure you can get them online (I haven't seen them around much). Haha on plastic straws: a short time ago I ALSO began cutting them lengthwise and then into shorter bits, but I only ended up doing it a couple times because I felt like that was only creating _more_ plastic waste. And also small bits that a turtle or other water dweller can swallow. So I think from now on I'll only cut them lengthwise to make them less stiff. It's a dilemma overall because you can't always prevent ending up with something plastic to have to discard.

The woman talking about insurance for the elderly is SO RIGHT. The elderly might save in the short term, but get into a long-term medical situation and you're in big trouble. I'm currently in such a situation. I have regular Medicare and a secondary. (The secondary used to pay the Medicare deductible but the insurance companies got the politicians to get them out of that.) All of my bills are paid. If I had one of those advertised plans, the bill would be astronomical and my savings depleted. A majority of the game is to delay the inevitable Medicaid. Regular insurance drops you at 65 (maybe 62 in early retirement?) but likes your money and offers you the aforementioned celebrity plans. Edit: try Pizza Hut fries. You might be surprised that they offer them but you might be surprised how good they are. No promises. I'm not a fan of their pizza. Wings are ok.

Media training is a thing. There are professionals out there who will help you prepare if you suddenly have to present to congress, to the press core, or like Sarah said, if you need to speak in front of a large or important group. They help you dress for your event, they help you refine your mannerisms, and they will let you know if you say um, ah or some other kind of filler word. They help you curb your fidgeting, tell you where to look, and how to manage questions. They will work with you to present in a polished fashion.

I began having elaborate dreams at age 17 while I was in high school. I told my favorite, trusted, English teacher, and he encouraged me to keep a journal. This was in 1970. In my awake hours, it was a really exciting time, for me. My high school had abolished it's long held dress codes, and regimented classes. Our high school became more like a college. We could arrive later in the morning, and stay later in the in the afternoon. We could choose which classes we wanted to take. Classes could be taught outside, in a park. Students could teach classes, they designed. We could invite members of the community to come in and teach classes, in non traditional subjects. We could wear whatever we wanted, guys could grow their hair long, the girls could dress in whatever they wanted. There were anti- Vietnam war protests happening in our communities. Be-ins and sit-ins, and artistic "happenings" were common. Recreational drugs were readily available. Like weed, hashish and LSD. ( though their use was on the "down-low") The community at large, was mostly liberal minded folks. Our parents participated in anti-war protests, along side their children. The post Woodstock loving vibe and Hippie-movement was in full swing. We lived less than 45 minutes away from Kent State University, in Ohio, where 4 students had been shot & killed by The National Guard, during a student protest. A lot was going on at all times. I wrote down my dreams every morning, from those days forward. And I continued this practice during my college and graduate school years, and every year since then. These were hand written notes, mostly in print,....not script. Eventually I began using a typewriter. I got my first word processor/computer, in 2003, and continued my daily dream documentation. Truth be told, I didn't have amazing dreams, every day. On average I had 30 to 50 per year. So, more like 2 to 4, each week.

The word "P**sy" is no big deal anymore. I'm still waiting for the "C" word to get back in rotation, though!

I think there's something about coming up in a man's world like you did as a comedian but being raised in a sister filled world which I don't know if you're noticing I have a lot of parallels with....
