So after watching ya video last night I check my lines and hoses this morning and I’ll be damn the same exact crack same place …. Thank you for your time
Man,I want to thank you for this advice, driving myself crazy trying to figure out what was wrong, look @ your video say check your hoses my air mass sensor was lose🥴🤪
@@javelldavis I have a 6.0 l van it's got a crack in same spot..I'm waiting on part to get here but do u think if i put tape on it would it fix it temporarily???
Thank you so much for this video I had the same code on my Silverado and I had the same crack on the same line as this truck I knew about it but I put electrical tape thinking it has going to work but I guess not
James,, thank you for your video. I have a dodge ram 3500 2007 with 5.7 hemi . i ran out of fuel one day and after I put some 20 gal. of gas , the engine would start but won't run. they toll me it was the sending unit. so I change it and did run but now when you push it a little it won't go. like can go on the free way at 65 if try to pass , it will hesitate and back fire. I check it with a scanner a it gave code p0171 and p0174. it looks to me like not enough fuel I bought a fuel pressure miter but don't know whats the normal pressure.
I haven’t watched your video completely yet bro but I had the p0171 and don’t really hear about others talking about it but or i just got lucky but my 6.0 had that code on due to the Header Gasket being toasted up causing a leak and I bought new and threw some (long tubes) might as well lol but my fix was the Gasket
Hello James. I'm glad I found this video. I was even more happy when I heard you say if there are question then message you! Just to give a bit of background: 04 GMC Yukon Denali XL 6.0 it has the P0171 error code, After checking the the vacuum hoses as you suggested, I found that hard plastic connector was broken. The person that fixes my car shoved a plastic tube into the hose then that into the broken connector. It eventually came out. I don't even know the name of the connector but it is connected to the motor on the passenger's side toward the front near the top of the motor but on the side of it . You actually disconnected the hose that it connects to at 3:15 into this video. Is that plastic piece that's attached to the body of the motor replaceable ? What is it called? Thank you for you help.
thank you for the info sir. Like you said follow the hose and i found my problem my hose was burnt and disconnected. Went to Advance auto parts and got a part for $2 and check engine light went away. Much obliged for the information kind sir.
Have a p0171 and p0174 2010 chevy silverado 5.3 had a crack in my pcv tube top of intake. Still running lean though in bank 1 and 2 ? Even after replacing the tube. Could i have another leak?
I have an 08 Chevy Tahoe 53 engine I put new plugs new coil, new wires, new pressure valve, new purge valve, new oxygen sensors, new canister and I’m still getting P0 174 P0 300 P0, 1175. Any suggestions?
Great information. What state/city r you in. I like the fact that your not trying to rip people off so good to hear that. I have an 05 Tahoe that is reading same codes. I’m going to take ur advice and check under the hood for loose clamps and/or worn hoses as possible causes. Ur right there is satisfaction n knowing u resolved the issue yourself.😁
I have my (money sign) engine light blinking now & the code is P0174 misfire cylinder 6, I have had multiple mechanics spray break cleaner on it to see if they can hear a change of idle & nothing. I’m really thinking it’s in the crank shaft now
You a good brother, we need more people like you, like you said other people would charge a lot of money for that little hose 😂 I’m having that same exact problem right now, seems like in the same place. Will that make my 07 Tahoe jerk when going in to first gear?
I have a 06 chevy silverado crew cab 2500hd 6.0 gas and I can't find out y it shakes at idle I've had plugs and wires and fuel injectors and throttle body and mass air cleaned and even the fuel pump and it still shake at idle and no check engine light
Wow what state/city are u located ? I need you to take a look at my 05 Tahoe reading same codes. I’m going to take ur advice and look around at the hoses and clamps to see if there are any cracks r worn parts & ur right their is satisfaction in knowing u solved the problem.😁
@@javelldavis Thanks James for getting back to me but with a little reading & watching RU-vid I found the problem...MAF sensor needed cleaning did the trick.😁
Even watching you for sometime now, thank you, I just got a p0171 code on my 2001gmc sierra 1500 5.3 went to the auto parts and they gave me two different possible problems from fuel punt to fuel filter to spark plug can you help me with this problem engine kind of shakes a little when on the highway but has good power???
2007 F150 is reading the code too lean. Just picked it up from the mechanic and now he is saying it might be a leaking gasket.....MIGHT, WTF U MEAN MIGHT?!?! Is that even possible? Thanks for the video and information you put up here. I will pass it on
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you yeah if possible but he needs to check and make sure that's the issue before changing it or he will be wasting money
Thank you ! I do have a question. I have these P codes. But when they pop off on the check engine light, I get stability track warnings. I also lee having a check breaks light. No problem with breaks tho. Can any of this be part of those P codes and help me figure out where the problem is ? Or are they completely separate issues ?
Can the p0171 code go on check engine light if you run your truck on empty gas? I filled it up with gas unplugged the battery for 10 minutes then ran it for 45 miles the check engine light has stayed off since. What do you think happened if ok to ask? 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.0l
Hey James, I just changed the brake booster and now I have p0171 and p0174 codes, the booster came with a paper thin gasket on one side, if that isn't sealing properly, would this be the spot to fix, with some gasket material? It could also be a line I disturbed trying to remove the old one and install the new one, but I do hear a slight sucking in that area, thanks!
Hi how you doing no it's not going to be the gasket there is no pressure between the brake booster and the it will probably be the brake booster or the brake booster hose or you may have accidentally pulled off of vacuum line when you changed it somewhere on the right side rear let me know when you find out 100% sure it's not going to be that gasket you also might have a faulty brake boost
What happens if u replace all ur oxygen sensors and the code p0171 nd p0174 still comes and I also replace the massive flow sensors nd harness!! I been working on my Tahoe by my self due to being a single mom
Try to look and see if you can find any vacuum leaks check out my video again you can see some of the places I put my hand that usually there those are the places that will be leaking if you can't find nothing shoot me a message again I'll explain to you step-by-step
I got a p0171, p0174, p0151, and p0131 all at the same time. From what Ianaged to research online, I got 3 potential culprits. Vacuum leak, bad Oxygen sensors, or bad fuel injectors. Not sure what your take on it is. I'd appreciate your intake. When I first had the engine light come on I was driving and as I came to a stop at a stop sign, my car ac shut down and than my car started stalling and eventually the engine shut down. I also got a p0191 and p0300 error but both went away and now I'm only dealing with the other 4 codes.
It only happens at idle or really low speeds. Once I press on the gas pedal and give it enough gas the car runs fine. Only happens at idle or when I come to a stop.
I have this p0174 code on my dodge ram 1500 4.7 v8 4-4 slt truck and wants to know exactly causes this code to show up on this truck of mines. Would like to know how going by fixing or repair so that I can my truck back on the road asap here??
Hey brother the very first thing you need to do is start looking for vacuum leaks like how I described most likely you're going to find the problem if you cannot find the problem then it might be an upper manifold gasket leak
Yo James, comes to find that it is not a blown head gasket...it's my cam shaft that giving the problem here. Could you give any advice how I can fix this problem here would be greatly appreciated bruh??
@@javelldavis how are u so much like I been getting and buy equipment to figure out what the codes. Is there anyway I can call u? Cause I’m tried of loosing money. I’m about to get ready for work but I get off late night
Bank 1 and Bank 2 P0171 and P0174 code? I have replaced the MAF sensor and cleaned the throttlebody out. But I got a better check engine reading code scanner. But I don’t know what I’m looking at with the longer term and short term
Is that all you have to say about that educational video? Didn't gain any knowledge.... Instead of you saying thank you for running outside and check if your vehicle but I bet this ummm ahhhh video help 🤣
