This guy is amazing! I cleaned the throtle body, replaced my catalytic converter, and bunch of other stuff thanks to him. I have saved around $1500 with him. This worker perfecfully on my 2017 accord..
I had the same issue on my Honda . I bought the launch x431 elite scan tool. It’s for Hondas specifically $179 I got it on sale on Amazon $120 . There’s a throttle pcm/ecm reset on it . I used that and idled the car for 10 minutes and I’m no longer having that issue. I hope that helps someone . I cleaned the throttle body before and that alone didn’t do the job
The throttle body cleaning is what caused this issue on my 2017 Ridgeline. I've tried the procedure described here 3x and idle is still hovering around 1000. Prior to the throttle body cleaning it was normally around 600-700RPM. I may have to buy that same scanner you bought if it doesn't come down after a few more days.
@@map7463 u can disconnect the battery for 19 minutes maybe it will reset it self and then let it idle till it gets hot make sure everything is off and then let it run till radiator fans run several times while it’s sitting there idling
Nice explaination on how to reset the High Idle ... but how do you do it if you can't affore a multi-thousand dollar scan tool? Is it possible to reset without a scan tool? I'm broke and can't afford to buy one.
Im dealing with this right now, after new aftermarket valve cover, spark plugs and throttle cleaning. Engine runs at 900 for 1 min, then goes to 1100 and sets code when i try to do the procedure. I have the same scanner
@RBTheMechanic I've been trying, just now I disconnected pcv hose and blocked it off. Idle dropped to 720 and went into idle learn. I'm going to get a factory intake
@RBTheMechanic It's a new OEM valve. I tried the old one too. I pinched off the hose to it, and idle dropped to 720 rpm and idle relearn status went from incomplete to learning. I suspect the aftermarket valve cover, I'm going to put a factory valve cover on tomorrow
Run it at 3000 rpm is to speed up the engine warming up. Once the fan started it mean the engine resch the target temperature. Let it idle for 5 minutes like was ge said in the video for idle relearn process.
@RBTheMechanic is it need to do when cold start, or any coolant temperature, if any coolant temperature ,if the coolant temperature already over 90, what I need to do ?
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I did it three times try to hold my foot at 3000 and then it’s still come around 1100-1500 and then afterwards check engine came on. I clean my throttle and maf sensor and no leaks or nothing and now I still can’t get it to relearn
Well I did had to put in idle relearn mode with scan tool. But I would say give it a day or 2 drive it around with everything off it maybe will pick up on idle speed
Hey RB so basically idk if this is another way but so when I had gave up and just had drive very normal meaning like 25 mph kinda steady and I didn’t floor it and it was like a short 30 min drive and then all of sudden I see it drop below 1000 like 1000-900 when I stop and when I was driving it was 950-1100 so I guess driving without speeding help relearn the trick and thanks for all of your videos it helped me a lot over the years with my car
2010 honda accord ex coupe, I removed throttle body but no iac valve. Does 2010 honda accord ex coupe not have an iac valve? I have code p0507 with a new burning smell
Before consider new TB, check/verify the following possible causes for P0507: Dirty throttle body Electric throttle control actuator misadjusted or damaged Faulty Electric throttle control actuator Intake air leak Poor electrical connection to the Intake Air Control (IAC) valve
Same process if u don’t have scan tool just disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then turn all accessories off lights wiper radio ac all off and do the same process it should work if it dosent first time try again
@@mahammudtalha2696 yup ur doing the same thing I did just not the scan tool part. So start the car and let it just idle there with every thing off but get it to operating temp I did show but my car was already at operating temp
