@mjr2168 Hafs simply wasn't interested in riwayaatul Hadeeth, only Quran. That's why he was Da'eef in Hadeeth and Thiqah in the Quran. No one in the field of jarh wa ta'deel called him a liar.

wrong example --- the quran was written down and memorised in the life time of the prophet and then compiled in the form available to us even today by the khulafa and the sahabi immediately after the death of the prophet . by the khalifa usmans time the quran was standardised , wen most all the importantt sahabi who hd memorised the quran or written it down were alive . the standardisation occurred by their joint collaboration . this is further attested by the quran wen it says it will be preserved for all time to come . in the case of the ahadees this is not the case . FOR THE FIRST NEARLY 200 YEARS AFTER THE DEATH OF THE PROPHET , THESE AHADEES WERE NOT COMPILED . INFACT SOME KHALIFA'S APPOSED THEIR COMPILATION . AND THEIR ARE STATEMENTS OF THE KHALIF UMAR WHO EVEN DESTROYED SOME OF THE AHADEES IN THEIR POSSESSIONS . IT WAS ABOVE 200 YEARS LATER THAT BUKHARI , MUSLIM AND OTHERS STARTED COMPILING AHADEES FROM SECONDARY SOURCES --- THE OFSPRINGS , RELATIVES AND COMPANIONS OF THE SAHABI --- SAHABI WHO HAD LIVED IN THE TIME OF THE PROPHET AND WHO WERE LONG DEAD NOW . OF COURSE STRINGENT METHODS WERE USED BY THE AHADEES COMPILERS TO SIFT THROUGH ALL THE AVAILABLE VERBAL AHADEES IN CIRCULATION AMMONGST THE FOLLOWERS OF THE SAID SAHABI . BUT HOW CAN YOU BE SURE THAT ALL THAT WAS THUS TRANSMITTED WAS ACCURATE PER SE ? THIS IS THE VERY QUESTION THAT IS RAISED ABOUT THE BIBLE . WHO WROTE IT AND HOW MANY 100 YEARS AFTER THE PROPHET EASAH WAS LONG DEAD . THE NARATIONS ARE NOT FROM THE SAHABI OF HAZRAT EASAH NOR EVEN OF THEIR COMPANIONS . Alhamdulillah that Allah has guided us and given us clarity in our thought. I’m astonished how some can disregard the Sunnah on the basis of fallibility of the shahaba who are the very same people that transmitted the Quran we have today! It reminds me of the how Christians get view the Trinity without understanding the absurdity of their arguments.
As a Muslim, I only accept Hadiths that do not contradict the Quran. If the Hadith is in line with Quran, then I accept. I totally agree with brother who is shorter.

Valid Question. Simple explanation. Read about the life and practice of Imam Muslim and Imam Bukhari, who narrated the Sahi Hadith. Extreme care was taken to get exact narrations and honest chains of narration. The process of evidence and personal character criteria were very strict.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allaah said: “Do not write anything from me; whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur’aan, let him erase it and narrate from me, for there is nothing wrong with that.” (Narrated by Muslim, al-Zuhd wa’l-Raqaa’iq, 5326)

Never, never, never attempt to quote Qur’an in front of Hafidh'ul Qur’an, and then also try to attempt tafseer of what you don't obviously know. And on top of that, reject hadith! "Obey Allah (SWT), and obey Rasullah!" = Qur’an & Sunnah (hadith), & Hadith Qudsi.

SubhanAllah. He's saying it's an assumption that the same people brought us the Qur'an in terms of preservation as the hadith. If it's an assumption can he name who it was? If he doesn't know that's even worse....it's pure BLIND faith because he is saying effectively he has no idea who the people are.

I am not a Quranist or anything like that. But his argument was I think there are hadiths that could never have been uttered by the prophet or a certain action done by the prophet. And that's true, there are hadiths like that.
