P22 - Magnet Spike - MS - Weapon Guide - Monster Hunter Frontier Beginner Guides 

Heyo Seph! Great guide! I wish I had had this when I started sniffing magnets. The weapon is really complex and a lot of the guides online don't actually even explain all the mechanics. Flying magnet attract gets I-frames as soon as you begin the attack at the end of it. The downward slam attack has I-frames through the whole animation, but I think the pull animation itself does not have I-frames. It can sometimes feel like it though, cause it can cause you to fly over some hitboxes. The magnetism status also builds up when you do not magnetize your weapon as well, although a lot slower (It does stop building up when the weapon is in the cooldown from magnetizing tho.). Magnetizing the weapon also increases its damage output by apparently around 10%. In my experience it feels like a lot more than that, but I guess it kinda depends on where the 10% is applied in the damage calculation. You can confirm this by the fact that all MS speedrunners always magnetize their weapon despite the fact that a lot of the deep endgame monsters like Musous are immune to the magnetism debuff that allows the pin. Magnetizing the weapon also adds extra animations to the heavy slam attack in blade mode, adding 3 little magnetic fragments each hitting 5 MV and dealing a lot of magnetism status to the enemy. I primarily use the blade mode so I dunno if the impact mode has some changed attack too. A lot of people hype up the magnet pin a bunch because it has a big number for its motion value, but in a 1v1 situation it's actually a DPS loss due to its super long animation. You generally also never really get more than 3 hits with it on an enemy within a quest due to the monsters dying before it going off more times. Comparatively GS's shining blade or the big multihit thing has a total MV of about 400 and the charge slashes are closer to 200, but you do dish them out a lot more often than ya do the magnet pin due to their versatility. Magnet Pin is very overhyped and almost never a game changer in a solo situation. It's stupidly good in parties as ya said tho, since the party friendos can wail on the boss while its pinned freely, giving massive opportunities for damage. The magnet pin deals pinpoint damage to the same spot where you put the magnet marker on! Even though it looks like a huge explosion! I also had no idea the uhhh...magnet spike feature increases damage to tails... I need to exploit this... Great guide!! I've played the game with MS from the moment I unlocked it, and while the community thinks very poorly of it because of how strong it is, it's a complete blessing for someone who has very little free time to grind the crazy nonsense monsters in deep endgame. It allows people like me, who can't dedicate their whole lives to experience what the game has to offer, which I think is a great thing. It's not like the game forces you to play it if ya wanna gung-ho your musous. BUT I WILL GLADLY USE MY SCIENCE-CROISSANT TO BEAT THE MUSOUS!

only just now getting into Frontier, but man I hope we get the Magnet Spike back one day. I don't even care if it gets nerfed it's just such an incredibly fun weapon to use

5:20 dont know if you mention this later in the video, but you can chain the 3rd hits of those combos together, so like main>main>main>side>then alternate main and side for however long you want>finisher whenever you want. Tons of great information here, def wish i had this when i started MS lmao (edit) 34:00 I straight up didnt know about the magnetism mode (r1 + select is such a bizarre button combo lol), but through spamming the forward/backward dodge attack/finishers/ any attack that has the weird magnetic effects definitely I feel like they build up the special status decently well. Could get 2-3 of the big big move during a hunt, but knowing the magnetism mode could probably get a few more lol, this weapon is insane

What buttons should I press on keyboard to trigger the explosive attack?

Is there any mod or any setting to change the ingame button prompts on the side to Xbox controller ones?

I just wonder where do you get the mats to craft that beautifull magnet i want it just i dont know where to get the mat
