Pa Trout Fishing 2024 is EXPENSIVE! 

They are raising it to keep up with inflation. PA Fishing license cost $21 in 2005 which is equal to $34 dollars today. The trout stamp cost $10 which is equal to $16.17 today meaning in 2005 it costs $50 in todays money get a license and trout fish in PA. Anyway I don't find the price to be expensive at all for trout fishing. Stocking trout is an insanely expensive endeavor and the fact you get that much access to stocked trout for that money is a bargain. It costs more money to go on a 4 hour fluke party boat than an entire year of trout fishing. Just putting things into perspective.

I would love to buy a 40 dollar fishing license. Here in California our license costs $63.00 before you buy any tags for Salmon, Steelhead, Crabbing, Sturgeon or a 2 rod stamp. By the time you are all done you are into a fishing license for upwards of $200.00.

So, your going to complain about spending 42 dollars for something that you can use 365 days a year. The people complaining are going to Starbucks 5 days a week, smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day, or visit fast food joints every morning, spending more than $42 in these places in one week. I'm here trying to watch two things at once, like seriously i am. trying to watch this fishing video and the new teenage mutant Ninja turtle mutant mayhem dvd. Yeah I was just at a Dick's sporting goods store 2 weeks ago and bought 4 jars of berkely power bait and then two packs of the Berkley power bait 3 inch floating worms in Orange Peel color. Just as a tip try casting your spinner at 12 a clock and sweeping it down stream by letting the current do the work it will keep your spinner blade spinning and will hold it there so fish don’t have to chase it so fast and you won’t get get snagged as much also when you are casting up stream and reeling down stream it’s going so fast down stream fish have a hard time grabbing it so by casting straight out and sweeping down stream and holding your line tight fish can move in time and can get a good grab of it resulting in more hooked fish

Rooster tails are not worth using anymore in my opinion

Everything in PA is expensive! Lived here my whole life and it's getting totally ridiculous. Driver's license, fishing license, professional license, gas prices, taxes, you name it and they screw you. Several years ago I went to renew my driver's license and the scan code on the form was sent to me smeared and they couldn't scan it and they charged me extra for a new form to replace the one they sent me messed up. I argued but was told if you want to drive you have to pay. Also high taxes for BS. Worst roads. You name it it's a mess. Once I retire I probably will leave PA. I will miss some of the great streams in PA but not worth the BS

They are like anything else prices keep going up every where. They probably pay more for the feed to feed them., Wait untill they start stocking fingerlings, then you will have to wait untill they grow up to catch them.

No one wants to go to Pa and fish we can do everything right and have a warden give us a ticket for fishing a barbed hook there is a ridiculous amount of other regulations like for intense can only fish a mile of oil creek and like 1.6 miles of pine Creek until April 6

I'll be 63 in May. So, I think I can get the lifetime license for a one time fee when I'm 65. I'm sure one of these "" Whipper Snappers"" on here will let me know! Lol

Its $10 more for us that live in nw pa and want to fish erie and the tributaries. Its legit cheaper going to buy an Ohio non resident than a pa with all the damn permits needed

I bought a 3yr one this time around, and i plan on making it worth it, as i want to get out fishing every weekend i can weather permited, but i might skip opening weekend just so avoid the crowds.

75 bucks for salt/fresh 2 pole, summer crab card, salmon/ steelhead card, sturgeon, and halibut as well as shellfish for a year res license in Washington

Ok we need more fish, helped stock trout in the early 90s . Sence then we lost a least 1/2 the area where we stocked. So the area left should be full of trout , but there not , and we stocked the streams more times also...at ten dollars , and no trout stamp....and where's all the brooks at.,.sum thing don't add up.....

Last year my wife bought a 10yr pa license in December 2022, around $304, my 10yr purchased this week was $407😢. Honestly locally feel like the trout stockings were less than years past. I gifted a few senior licenses to friends and that went from like $51 to $89 in just a few years.

I used 1/16 Oz. Rooster Tails and replaced their treble hooks with the 1/8 Oz. Rooster Tail hooks. You will hold more fish. The smaller gold Phoebe spoon is very good for trout.
