Ken, my friend, you have truly but one choice. You must use the Barbasol razor to shave off the mustache, so we can enjoy watching it struggle to make its way through your upper lip bristle :-)

That PAA razor looks wicked cool. Stirling and Chiseled Face both have great aftershave splashes that have witch hazel in them. Very soothing.

The stache suits you, dear I say so!! I cringed throughout the entire R41 part. Did my first ever chest and shoulder shave yesterday, the R41 took of a giant pimple I had on the left shoulder and what I thought was half of my left nipple. One cut bled for hours... mad technique sir, mad technique, respect!!

Outstanding side-by-side, Ken. I saw the Alpha Ecliptic first used by SoCal Shave (Manny). It is a true slant, as opposed to the Murkur 37C, or 39C (sledgehammer). Both these models having the blade torqued to accommodate the contour of the bottom plate.I actually dig the mustache. It is more distinguishing for a man of your station. You can't go wrong with Proraso. Acqua de Gio is always a total boss scent. This session was a complete success, and joy to watch. Shave on, Ken..

Yesterday I had my first shave with Muhle R 41, paired with Astra Platinum. I must say its an impressive razor. Not as smooth Rockwell 6C on plate 4 but surprisingly enough, didn't feel any irritation with Muhle. I felt the blade for the first time.

Ken, the trick with the Alpha Ecliptic is to always shave with the flat end perpendicular to your face, it will be way smoother. Cheers

Thanks for sharing the video, Ken. That PAA Alpha bested the R41 in my opinion. Another great razor for removing heavy growth is the Merkur Progress on setting 5. The Merkur has a wide trough beneath the blade similar to the Alpha, which helps to prevent clogging. I'm a slant razor fan, so the PAA Alpha Ecliptic is next on my list. ;)

Just wanted to share. I was surprised how well it did. I actually preferred it over the R41 when I shaved my beard to goatee, then stash then off. It was smooth.

Ken looking good !! Ken I have been shaving my head for the last 52 years R41 and Feather blades no problem with them I use CREMO CREAM and it works great really slick ,but I just a WCR with a 175 titanium handle and made a mistake using PRORASO CREAM but I don't use the Feather blade I use a ASTRA GREEN and I got a few knicks something really rare because I never get knicks , could changing feom CREMO to PRORASO have been the problem ????? With CREMO is super slick the razor glides super easy with PRORASO I found out it was like to stuck !! What do you think ?????

Hello Kensurf! some people say that a blade lasts longer in a slant razor than in a straight razor (you can use one blade more times). Have you noticed anything like that in your shaving practice?

Question? I have mild facial hair and coarse hair on my neck that lays flat. It is extremely hard to cut that hair on my neck. The 6S Rockwell with a 6 plate takes many many passes. My Lupo .72 barely touches it. My Parker 78R won't even touch it. I have a cheapo adjustable that will cut it but is so aggressive I can't shave my face with it. I haven't tried an R41 yet or a slant. This Razor, the Ecliptic, looks like it will work perfectly on my face but do you think it would be an acceptable option for my neck?

Great shave. Wilkinson Sword is my favorite blade. Great in the R41 and pretty much any razor I've used. I tried the Feather in the R41 (and promptly cut myself... a bit) but wasn't really impressed - it wasn't a much better shave and the blade didn't last as long as the Wilkinson (despite being 3 times the price).

Awesome, I appreciate it. I just got into wet shaving about a month ago. I have the merkur 34c and am interested in the bevel. I like how thin and long the handle is. I've got some Wilkinson sword but my Gillette silver blue seem to blow them out of the water. Every Gillette seems perfect sharp and consistently the same. The Wilkinson sword seemed to be hit or miss throughout the 100 pack. Feather seemed on par with the silver blue but the blue are cheaper and smoother it seems. But to each their own I guess.

Very nice shave.Pretty scary looking razor, but looks like it performed well. Did you find it in the same ballpark as the R41? Oh, and Panamanians are pretty angry at England, but well, what can I say. Is just a game. Sadly the team I follow performed very poorly (Germany). But very good matches coming. Nice moustache.

Did you say 6 blades?!!! When will Big Company marketing departments draw the line? 6 blades sounds like a SNL skit. When I used carts, 3 blades cut the mustard and then some. Gillette recently announced a price drop because Dollar Shave n Harry's is grabbing up market share in that order. Unfortunately it has not been the adoption of Wetshaving to cause this drop in Market Share. Thanks for the video Ken.

ON one hand, you have something like the " Gillette Fusion Proshield Power"..and then you have a name like PAA Alpha Elliptical....ECLIPTIC!..... ( sorry I had to do some word play) How do they come up with these names I tell ya lol
