Milk cake / paal cake is a sweet confectionery or dessert, originating from Kerala. It is made mainly from milk solids, which is milk reduced to the consistency of a soft dough. Modern recipes call for dried or powdered milk. It is often garnished with dried nuts such as almonds and cashews to enhance flavour.
Ingredients:
1. Milk powder - ½ cup
2. Sugar - 1 cup
3. Saffron - a pinch
4. Ghee - 1 tbsp
5. Milk - ½ cup to ¾ cup (as needed)
6. Cardamom - 2
7. Baking powder - ¼ tsp
8. Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp
