@@aarontillman3772 Hmmm.. I must of missed that when watching the first few episodes of the TV show. When did they state he was Pac-Man's son, so I can confirm?
I think, if you have to remember a non-educational show is "for kids" then it's not a good show. Kids naturally have a lower threshold for enjoyment than adults do, so some things they enjoy just tend to be lower quality. That does not mean kids can't enjoy things adults enjoy too though. And when a show is just "for kids" then it's just lowballing it's quality unnecessarily.
Yeah, this is part of the otherwise fair video that made me uncomfortable like when he didn’t explain what was wrong with Pac-Man World 1 & 2 for home consoles (even though the latter he claimed was one of his favourites up to the ranks of 3) and told us “As long as the kids like it” to defend the show, even though kids do deserve better. People can like the show all they want, but they can’t make the haters change their mind as they have a right to their opinions too (I’m in the middle, but closer to the latter than the former).
This joke aged like fine wine, because it really is (heck, just like the PAC-Man World games, one or both of the Ghostly Adventures games, let alone this one landed on one the few games of best Pac-Man games that exist, PhantomStrider might even make one later on as he read my predictions of what his list of greatest Pac-Man games would be with the Pac-Man World series with the obvious exception of the handheld versions being toppers of the list).
I can't stand Pac-Man's redesign. Its like Spongebob and Mrs. Pac-man had a child and named it Pac-man. I'd rather play Pac-Man World 2 but I could give this game a shot.
I think his redesign is meh. It can’t compare to the character designs in Pac-Man World trilogy, but I’d take it over how the ghosts in the same series (Ghostly Adventures) are designed any day!
Guys, in the spirit of fairness and in the spirit of forgetting the past, let's all cite embarrassing things that happened to us so Balrog isn't the only one being mocked for their past. In 8th grade, I had a mental breakdown in the middle of Spanish class, and I rushed at people, screaming. It took 4 people to hold me back and I was suspended a whole week, and yes, it was humiliating.
Yeowch, that's rough. I remember I shouted out "Spongebob" out of nowhere in the 4th grade class. My teacher got pissed, everyone laughed, and I felt humiliated.
Once in High school while I was phasing out I farted and everyone looked directly at me. In defense I turned around to look as well but had forgotten I was sitting in the last row.... so there's that. :3
During my last year of high school, I didn't know what came over me. But when our history teacher came in the classroom, I ran as fast I could in the other side of the room, grabbed my friend's bag, and punched it over and over. Then my friend did the same to mine. My teacher just yelled "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
One time in Year 8 (8th Grade), I was in Maths class. Our teacher was getting pissed at the entire class and she started walking out of the classroom. I was sitting in front of the door with a table to the right of me. Like an idiot, I put my LARGE bag in the gap between my table and the table next to me (the gap you would have to walk through to leave the class) and my Maths teacher tripped over it. I wanted to fade from existence at that very moment. It's still very hard to forget the silent fury she held in after standing back up. It seems she was cool about it and I didn't get in trouble, but I feel that the guilt will never vanish.
I don't know about anybody else, but I really like the show. The story telling is very interesting, and I have gotten a few chuckles out of it. There is a charm I can't get from many other story driven shows. My only problems include the off-sync mouth animation, and how some episodes can be a bit too fast paced. Other than that, I still really enjoy it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the Ghostly Adventures game wasn't god awful. It definitely won't win any awards, but there's still some enjoyment to be had. Some people are treating it like the next Sonic 06 for god's sake.
@@BalrogGameRoom Speaking of the twelfth minute of this video (it’s so close to 11:21, in fact, it’s at 11:25-11:30 where I responded to your couple of responses to a part of the Pac-Man community) Number 1. Actually, that *does* sound like a great idea, like bringing back the other Pac-Man World series characters (except for Erwin. He was funny, but he was a villain in the PMW games I found to be a step-down from Toc-Man and Spooky). Number 2. I guess, but honestly, I would rather consider them to be nitpicks (in the home console Pac-Man World games) than major criticisms that hindered the games from being awesome (actually, in the handheld versions, that IS what I would consider them’ Heck, when it comes to the mid-2000s Pac-Man games for the GBA, while they’re not the absolute worst things about the Pac-Man franchise up to the ranks of the Atari 2600 game, they make the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures show look like one of the many best parts of the Pac-Man franchise. And this is coming from a Pac-Man fan who also dislikes the TV series, but feels like I was a bit too harsh on it in the mid-2010s to the point where I did something I would soon regret, have a fight with people who actually like the show rather than be more mature and understanding towards why not everyone will mind it).
For the record, Pac-Man World 2 is a great game. It isn't Mario Galaxy quality, but it still a lot of fun. When you grouped World 2 and 3 together though, I cringed. World 3 is terrible. The music is forgettable and cuts out after about 5 minutes (in levels that take 20+ minutes to 100%), the combat is repetitive and boring, the level design is meh and it feels like they took out great things from World 2 and put in terrible new things. Anyway, I actually want to play Ghostly Adventures just to see how it is since you said it was "alright". I'd love to eventually hear your opinions on the sequel!
Unpiopular opinion: Pac-Man World 1 & 2 (non-GBA versions) actually do come very close to Super Mario Galaxy (duology) levels of greatness! Pac-Man World 3, on the other hand, is a guilty pleasure because even with its flaws you mentioned, it does have an atmospheric story and like the Spectral Monsters, the good guys in the game are very adorably designed, especially in the cutscenes like the beginning and end.
The Nintendo Code Card thing... Ah, good times. That was seriously funny XD Been a while since a RU-vid video made me crack up like that, keep up the awesome work, Wallid :D I look forward to all your future projects :)
I had no idea there was a Pac-Man cartoon out, let alone that this was based on it. So, that's good to know! Also, your check-marks are. . . special, lol. Thanks for doing this review and being entertaining! :)
Every time you open your closet in the intro, I keep expecting something to come out and fall on top of you. Also nice review. Way to give the game an honest chance :)
+Balrog Well That's enough avi. Detours for this week, let's begin this weeks review! After Video: It's a nice video, and I find it kind of supriseing that you somewhat like this game instead of giving it trash like some other license games you reviewed like the Regular Show Game that.....well we all know at this point how it turned out, and ya, i'm amazed that you brought up Pac-man worlds 2, a game I do have, though not growing up, and the fact that you say that World 2 had some of the same problems that THIS game had, but at the same time THIS game is good non the less is..kind of supprising...how you handeld this review sounds more like something I'd do for MOST games I'd play and/or review. Lastly, when this video first came out and you mentioned Wario at the end I was like "OH YES! HE DIDN'T FORGET ABOUT THAT STORYLINE AFTER ALL!" and when you confirm that your going to "GET HIM BACK!" I was hyped beyond believably! And I couldn't wait for that next episode to come out! So see ya next week for the next episode! See ya then Balrog!...Oh and HAPPY E3!......
Every game reviewer on RU-vid has there thing. PBG is the Zelda guy, JonTron is the bird guy, Balrog is the guy with the turtleneck and the Wario doll that became a meme twice.
I gotta say this is the best review i've seen on this game. It's not one sided with praise/hatred and pretty much described my experience with the game. I hope monkey bar ga- I mean namco does a better job with the sequel to ghostly adventures and not turn out to be a lazy cash in like what i see with the dbz games namco has been making lately. (though i have low hopes judging by the shotty 3ds port footage shown so far.)
I remember playing Pac-Man World when I was still in Jr. High. Had a lot of fun with that one. I'm glad Wario will be coming back. It doesn't feel right without him.
I have a vague idea of it... But can someone please explain the entire butter boy thing for me? All I can find is an unspecific know your meme page on it...
Just out of curiosity, where did you get "Balrog" from? Is it after Balrog from Street Fighter? Balrog from LotR? Or some other Balrog that I don't know about? I'd really like to know.
I was curious about this game. I enjoyed Pac Man World 1, didn't play 2 but couldn't get into the third one. Might pick this up if it's cheap. Thanks for the review!
I honestly thought this was about the old PS1 game, which is one of my favorites and one of the first games I played that wasn't Nintendo. Meh, oh well. Great video!
Is it just giving you a little bit of a "Mario Galaxy" vibe? Cause I'm pretty sure all of those powerups (or atleast how they're being used) are ripped straight from Mario Galaxy.
I wish the cutscenes were pre rendered by 41 entertainment since it’s not like it would’ve been that hard, plus Pac-Man games in this style always had pre rendered cutscenes and it would’ve been a nice callback to those games story presentation
Made that comment before you pointed out the mistakes. Yeah, PW2 has its flaws, but in the end it's still very enjoyable. You also forgot to mention PW2's AWESOME soundtrack.
MonkeySharkPro I'm going to be honest, Pac-Man World 2 is, in my opinion, the second best Pac-Man game to date, only being beaten by the original Arcade game.
Funny that the voices are the best part of the game, it uses almost everyone from Bang-Zoom(the company that does Pac-Man)'s Kill la Kill dub. It's the weirdest thing hearing Ryuko's voice come out of a meme.
I have to agree about the terrible camera, my little brother got the game and tried it out, when I played it on the gamepad it was just more annoying and bad more than anything, but on my TV if I went into a circular motion, or ran on a curvy path, it made me feel like my eyes were gonna throw up, it made my eyes hurt terribly, and I never dealt with this on other games, not sure if anyone else dealt with the same problems, but at least that was my experience
I actually have pacman world 3 for pc but I can't play it cause Windows 10's package installer is freaking stuuupid! I even looked on the Internet to find the code to play this, but, the Windows 10 package installer won't let me play it!
It's sad the show is in a cliffhanger and we will never know if it's canceled or not I literally have dreams of how it might end I wish the Pac is back 2019
I was actually excited when I found out that pac man was getting a brand new cartoon, and I enjoyed myself every time an episode was on Disney channel. It's not as good as say. . . Sonic X, but it's a good time worth taking a look at.
in my humble opinion, the Rev roll was ok. Mandatory occasionally, but best when mastered especially for speed runs. So fun to jump large portions of the level.
my brother got this game for his birthday and he says its a lot of fun (he's 9), but when he let me try a few levels on my own, i found most of the same problems Wallid did
actually ive gone back to playing pacman world 3 and i still preffer 1. ive played world 1 and its awesome, but it seems a bit short. world 2 was like best platformer of the generation or something. 3 is very heavy on the animation. it gets between the controls, the momentum and the action. like sly cooper.
