Now that is what I call the fastest Pac-Man without the Super Pac-Man game. Even a perfect Pacman score makes you complete this in between 2 to 3 hours.
There was a pacman machine at my high school, and someone changed it to fast mode and nobody knew how to change it back, (I may have been that person...) but i was super good at it. Don't get me wrong, you're much better at it than me, but i had that high score from grade 9 to graduation. it was just under 100,000 points, but people still couldn't beat it, and at around grade 11 everyone just started calling me king pac man, eventually from halfway through grade 12 there was a more popular person that had my name so even the teachers called me king pac man to eliminate confusion between both of us. Pac man was the only reason people liked me in high school, everyone thought i was weird, but pac man made me popular, thank you pac man
It was just how games were at the time. This came before dig dug, which was the first namco game I know which has distinct levels. The levels in Ms Pac-Man were a given considering it was originally made as an add-on to the original and then sold as its own cabinet. At the time, the two most popular games I know of were space Invaders and galaxian, which of course had no level variety.
