Pace Bowling Masterclass
Part Two - Fundamentals
#cricket #CCCricketUK #pacebowling #seambowling #fastbowling
This series of videos was filmed at our masterclass sessions held in 2023. We covered 4 topics over 4 weeks and each topic is split into a number of sections.
Here’s pace bowling part two - fundamentals
Pace bowling has 7 fundamentals, the topics covered here contain a lot of biometrics and technical detail but should form the basis for any quick bowlers method
FUNDAMENTALS
Run Ups - Aligned, natural, rhymetical
Gather - Transition between running and bowling
Bound - Energy towards the target
Back Foot Contact - Natural position that sets alignment
Alignment - Align shoulders to hips and front foot to back foot
Front Foot Contact - Aim to be braced which is strong and not straight or collapsed
Arms - Extend but don’t get stuck behind, complete arm circles in narrow corridor
There’s loads here to check and work on. Video can be a great tool to check all these fundamentals.

thank you for this great tutorial. How wide the landing stride should be? natural width or slightly wider?

It depends on your height and natural stride pattern. You want it wide enough to create a powerful position, but not uncomfortable or so wide it causes you to lose height. The crease lines are often a rough guide for back and front foot contact points.

Establishing good alignment and strong back foot and front foot contact positions would be our starting point. Drop us a video on our other socials and we'll take a look for you. (Links for where to find us are in the video description.)
