Jeff, thank you for posting this video of the Over The Top route. By chance did you see any cairns marking the point at which you left the trail to begin the ascent, or any cairns along the way? I’ve got a blow up of Skurka’s diagram so can see elevations.
I knew you would be fine, others did it. A hiker I'm following who's ahead of you did it with his group and had no problems. He stated as much afterward. But now that you've done it, would you do it again or take the long road walk?
@@jeffvonvai thank you. I’m really enjoying your videos, watched all of them. You capture something different than the others. It’s awesome. I’m a PCT’r as well. Up in Oregon right now about 10 miles from where the PCT crosses hwy 242. When you get to this area I’ll bring you some goodies or something.
This is an amazing area. I have done a couple day hikes out of Tahoe and have wanted to go back and spend more time. Unfortunately, I could not use my thru permit this year!
