Good video. I would have expected the Port of Brisbane to have had some Queensland art works eg such as colourful images of Qld's flora and fauna etc. painted on some of the bare walls as a distinct Welcome to local and visitors alike.

That’s a good point! Looks like they’re going for the super modern aesthetic, but maybe as the landscaping grows in it will look a little more settled in the environment. Thanks for watching 😄

A great video showing our new Brisbane cruise terminal - such a major oversight though that there is no public transport to the city, about 25 minutes away (unlike the excellent Citycat ferry service to the old terminal). Adrian, have you heard anything about a Carnival ship coming to Brisbane? We have FCCs to use, but Carnival has been (ignorantly) silent with us.
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy 2 года назад
That really is an oversight. I hope that cruise lines at least put on a shuttle for visiting passengers, but certainly for arriving/departing cruisers, a public transport option would have been excellent. Carnival have announced that their second Australian based ship will officially start serving Brisbane before the end of the year, but they’ve stopped short of actually naming which ship it will be. Hopefully we’ll know soon, but not yet unfortunately.

@@TheCruiseandTravelGuy many thanks Adrian for this great info about Carnival's Brisbane ship. Fingers crossed that they don't change their mind.

Excellent thankyou Adrian. Don't like the rattling of the glasses in the suite though. Could be a few broken glasses or "Glasses overboard" if we stay in that room. 10 nights of that would drive us mad. However I'm sure stuffing towels or something like that around them would quiet them down. As far as the Brisbane terminal is concerned I think it looks great but I'd need oxygen at the end of the walkway going on board. Phew what a marathon. Cheers mate.
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy 2 года назад
Thanks for watching Ray 😄 Haha those glasses were definitely noisy. It was only an issue during docking manoeuvres, but those tend to be early 😴 so setting an alarm isn’t necessary 🌅 The walkway felt like it was never-ending! A few people were commenting about it being an issue - at least it was nicely made haha.
@lesliemckay2835
@lesliemckay2835 2 года назад
Did you mention the noise as a perk of being at the aft end of the ship, for my benefit 😉. Was it engine vibration? How long did it last and was it evident while sailing? I think I'll be putting paper napkins under the glassware if that is what it was....
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy 2 года назад
Haha I certainly did 😆 didn’t have to use an alarm for a wake up call, that’s for sure! It was engine vibration, only occurring during docking manoeuvres and wasn’t evident at all at normal cruising speeds. I would suggest even removing the glassware and safely relocating it somewhere quieter if there is an early port of call scheduled.

Hi Judy. If your cruise is departing or arriving at the new Brisbane cruise terminal, the cruise line will generally put a shuttle on that can be booked via reservations for pre-cruise transfers or onboard for post cruise transfers but you’ll need to enquire directly with them. The port itself doesn’t operate a shuttle and as far as I know, there aren’t any public buses to the terminal either.

Hi Adrian. I always enjoy your videos. I was hoping to learn what the ground transportation options are from the new terminal. If a cruise is terminating there, do you know whether there is public transport to the airport? Fir cruuses visiting, are there local buses to the city? It seems like it is in the boondocks. We will be cruising in there later this year.

The port itself doesn't operate a shuttle and as far as I know, there aren't any public buses to the terminal either. P&O had a free shuttle to the city and back to the terminal for passengers that were heading into the CBD. They were running every 15 or so mins from what I recall. I hope that cruise lines continue to operate a shuttle during ports of call, as you say, it’s in the boondocks haha.

Great video of Brisane terminal thank you. I dont know about that long walk from the boat. I dont know how people with breathing problems or walking with a stick could cope. I did not see any place to sit along the way to rest. Also can you advise if there was anywhere to sit and have a coffee or a beer or something to eat before boarding? as unlike Brisbane portside there were numerous places to do that even an IGA for anything last minute. Obviously the IGA isn't necessary but def some refreshment place would be good. Although I hope it would be big enough to seat a few people. Thank you
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy
@TheCruiseandTravelGuy 2 года назад
Thanks Gae, glad you enjoyed the video. It was definitely a lengthy walk but there were a few strategically placed benches and seats within the walkway. They're a bit hard to spot, but you can see them in the video. There was a coffee cart outside the main entrance to the terminal selling pastries and coffees, but no alcohol available from what I could see. There was plenty of seating around the grounds too, with benches, ledges and seats dotted throughout.

Thanks for watching and glad to read that you enjoyed the tour 😄 There were apparently cases onboard our cruise but I don’t know how many - it wasn’t mentioned at any time except for at the end of the cruise when announcements were made about disembarkation and it was noted that anyone diagnosed with Covid onboard would be leaving via a separate exit. We wore masks indoors when social distancing was an issue - generally in the elevators and the main theatre and show lounge. Otherwise, it was up to the individual if they wanted to or not at other times.
