I suspect it might be as bad as when a Swedish company made a video game out of Mad Max and cast American voice actors for all the parts. So far, this trailer supports that. Already feared as much when I read that this project would be released soon. Wasn’t disappointed, unfortunately.

Pacific rim took lots of inspiration from anime such as neon genesis , Gurren legann, eureka seven and classics such as the big o and gunbuster.

@@Aristocratic13 nope. The director/writer for Pacific Rim (1) was heavily inspired by Japanese mech anime, but wanted to create something entirely unique on his own. So he basically did everything to make it a “Western Mech”, no anime tropes and no gundam stuff. Which is a real shame since they ended up making Pacific Rim 2 entirely just anime reference (showing Gundam Unicorn) and made it specifically to sell toys.
