Kiwirail train 826 that started its journey at the Westland Dairy factory in Hokitika on the West coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It heads across the South Island interior between Jacksons and Otira climbing the grade up to Otira station.

Why dont they have DL'S running that line? Good testing grounds for them.

It would be, but they don't fit through most of the tunnels on the line between Arthurs Pass and Christchurch.

@@Emmanuel4334 1. DL's are only in the North Island. 2. We have DX's from the North Island, DLs replacing DXs. 3. DXC locomotives have a special vent(s) equipped to travel in the Otira Tunnel, an 8.5km long tunnel. These vents circulate air through improving air quality in the tunnel.
