Trago has such finesse with his words that he isn't much of a video essayist as much as he is a poet. You've had the biggest impact on how I approach my filmmaking and my film journey overall and that's pretty great. You're vids are straight bangers and never disappoint, keep it uo

People who worry and think about pacing are the types of people who end up making bad cinema. Humans already have a built-in clock that we apply to everything, the only times we mess up that clock are when we pay attention to it and try to mess with it. Just go shoot and let actors move when they want to move. GO shoot something beautiful and let the pacing happen naturally you...people.

Really Trago? Why would you reference Roman Polanski in this video? I get it, he has some great talent, but he's one of the most despicable people in the movie industry. What he did in the past is unforgivable. That man deserves no praise at all.
@IngramBlakelock
@IngramBlakelock 3 года назад
I think Roman Polanski is a litmus test for other film makers, actors and in this case media commentators. There's the people that really really love filmmaking and then there's the people who love filmmaking so much that they are happy to compliment a film maker who raped a 13 year old girl. This isn't alleged, he admitted to it in a court of law in the hopes of getting a reduced prison sentence. When Polanski found out that he would actually be seriously punished for what he did he fled the country and has been living in Europe ever since. During this time he has gone on to make many more films, work with many big Hollywood actors and receive a lot of support from an industry that would rather look at his film making achievements than acknowledge that he used his position of power to give drugs to and then rape a child.
@moldypizza
@moldypizza 3 года назад
You shouldn't be able to reference Polanski or point out the fact that his work has immense artistic value? I think he's a monster, and I chose not to pay to see his work--but I'm not gonna pretend Rosemary's Baby isn't one of my favorite movies and avoid talking about his artistry in it.
@IngramBlakelock
@IngramBlakelock 3 года назад
@@moldypizza No one in their right mind would suggest that we need to remove the films of bad people from history or stop people from watching them. The only issue here is that Trago chose to throw a spotlight on Polanski. He could have picked many other great film makers but instead he picked Polanski. Even if he was the only true choice for a director with a masterful grasp of pacing, which he isn't, all of this could be solved with a simple mention that Polanski wasn't a good, normal or frankly worthy human being. By bringing up what Polanski did so well and not acknowledging his own admitted crime for which he's received no punishment Trago effectively supporting a real life monster. If Trago's next video was on the amazing producer Harvey Weinstein and his contribution to filmmaking it couldn't be too much more tasteless than this one.
