A picture of your ultrasound to use as a focal point is good because when you're exhausted and in pain looking at it helps remind you to be strong and remind you of what you are going through is for.
Don't forget ibuprofen or advil for headaches for Chase. With all the excitement and lack of sleep my husband had headaches with a couple of our babies births! Nipple cream doesn't take up much room and is a good idea to have on hand. You probably already have a pediatrician picked out but if you don't definitely research before because atleast at my hospital i work at they require you to have babies appointment set before discharge. Also from a newborn hearing screener, don't stress if they don't pass the first time, most of the time it is due to extra fluid from birth and usually pass no problem on second screen!Congratulations!! You both are going to be amazing parents! ❤
I can NOT believe he is already about to be here! Where did time go?! Congrats Kenn 💐👏🏻🎉 Also recommend you bring a boppy pillow it will be more comfortable when breastfeeding.
When I had my daughters the hospitals used to do a newborn photo shoot so I would bring an outfit for pics but I don't know if they do that anymore. Also the first few days the 0-3 month clothes were really big and I found that getting like a premie onesie or sleeper was helpful.
Maybe a little overkill but everyone does it their first go around. It'll change with the next baby 😊 baby will be swaddled the majority of the time I definitely wish I'd of brought my own Muslim blankets. Also, my own cozy blanket! You want the boppy! Definitely your prefered brand of pacifier (one that resembles a nipple since your breastfeeding), you want the baby to be accustomed to it as it helps prevent SIDS! Congratulations! Can't wait for you to experience motherhood❤❤
I for sure recommend bringing your own blanket!!!! That was my biggest regret not bringing after I gave birth to my daughter. At night I was so so cold. It shouldn’t get wrecked if you just use it after you deliver and especially if you put it over the sheets the hospital already gives you. I’m so excited for you and you got this! You have such a great attitude already. Just keep that positive attitude because that’s what I did and it was truly the most amazing time of my life. So many people make it seem so much scarier and harder than it is( which obviously giving birth is a little nerve wracking and tiring) but it’s also the most amazing and beautiful moment of your life. So just make the most out of every second!
Mom of 3 here! Blanket & pillow - I brought mine! Well, my sister passed away in 2007 so I brought HER blanket with me for all 3 kids. I learned after my first, that I want my own pillow because a hospital bed is NOT comfy. I ended up spending most of my time after babies were delivered, sitting on my pillow because my buns hurt 😂 Boppy - I brought mine, more for helping my older kids hold baby for the first time. Speaker - I didn’t bring a speaker but I brought my headphones, I also I’m sort of triggered by noise, so having my headphones helped me be able to focus on the noise I WANTED to hear. Laptop - with my middle little (she’s now 6) I brought it with me to watch Netflix & such. Babies sleep a LOT, and while I wasn’t so tired, there’s not that much to do to keep busy while in the hospital. I can only reorganize our bags so many times before it’s not fun anymore lol
Also bring lotion & chapstick! The air in hospitals is SUPER dry! I also brought liquid IV packets with me when I had my youngest (11 months old tomorrow!) it made not eating anything easier, because I was still getting the taste of something besides water in me.
Chapstik!!! Bring the chapstik!! Mom times 4 here and I was thankful fpr the chapstik! I brought the boppy and it totally came in handy! Also brought my pillow and blanket! Nothing got wrecked or stained. Good luck!
Hi Kenn, can't wait to meet him. For suggestions, I think you should bring like your own diaper creams and diapers because the ones given by the hospital might cause rashes. Definitely bring the nursing pillow with different covers for easier feeding.❤
No need for the sleep sack. They love to be tight swaddled. Bring socks for you and chase! The hospital is so cold! A cozy blanket was so nice to feel comfortable after baby was born and the hospital ones are so scratchy. No pillow is needed. No need for the boppy. The hospital has some for you to borrow. Bring a pacifier if you want but we didn’t use it until we got home. It was nice to learn baby’s hunger cues the first day or two and a binky can mask some of that.
You should get a make up organizer thing to put your stuff in so that way when it's time to go it's all there and u can just grab it so it's all in one area less stress for you to remember
you can do it!! I will be praying that your birth goes well me and my cousin have been watching you ever since u were preg! I love you KennaDee! u are gonna be the best mother!
Honestly you probably won’t use majority of the things you’re bringing just because your main focus is on baby and you’ll forget you brought all that. I had 2 kids and packed less the second time because I didn’t use a lot and my hospital provided me with lots of toiletries. But whatever makes you comfortable is totally fine. Hoping for a safe delivery and a healthy baby 💙
Ken and Chase are gonna be the best parents lysm!! I'm so excited for you guys to meet your baby boy ace!! good luck to you guys that everything will be okay at the birth giving hopes!! 💙
Sending so much love and prayers for a safe delivery and a healthy baby, healthy momma, all good things! Definitely bring the boppy! It shouldn’t get super dirty. When I had my daughter, I brought my own diapers, bottles, clothes for a day or two just in case plus going home outfit, body wash, wash cloth, toothpaste and toothbrush, hair brush, pjs, nursing bra, chargers.
Baby Ace is on the way yaaaaaaaaa. Yes they give Bay things but pack your own just in case he brake out........ kennedee kay you are going to be the best mom...... blessings to you all.... always remember put God first........ and I know Tiffany is excited to be a grandmother
Mom of 3 and pregnant with my last so I definitely say it’s an essential the bottle they give you is just a spray bottle and this angles up to help clean that area
This pregnancy feels like it went by so fast, I remember watching the video of you finding out you are pregnant❤❤ I wish the best for your new family❤ I hope ace is born a happy healthy baby❤
Definitely take the boppy pillow… It was the best when I had my 2nd son. Plus, if you end up having a c section for any reason, it helps to have it around your tummy to cough.
Also I say things that entertain you or distract you from having negative thoughts. You should also bring your favorite pillow that you just love and makes you so comfortable. A bonnet to make sure you don’t have your hair out and everywhere bc you have extensions. Pads. For afterwards. Take off ALL JEWELRY I swear before you get out the car while you are on your way. Love you . Good luck ❤
They more than likely will have a boppy at the hospital. You should bring gum or mints too. Sometimes the medicines they give you through your IV leave a weird taste in your mouth and those help so much!
After delivering I am always so so cold! Remember you can ask for heated blankets if you need them! Praying for a speedy safe delivery for you and Ace.❤
Definitely bring a pillow, blanket and a boppy! They shouldn’t get gross plus you can move them once you’re actually labouring. If you like playing card games definitely bring a deck of cards to pass the time. I personally was in the hospital a total of 6 days (3 with baby) and recommend anything to keep dad comfortable! In our situation, he barely slept and had a hard time helping me through labouring as it was such a long process. Still bring some snacks for you once baby is born because you might not get food right away depending on the time of day. More than happy to answer anymore questions! 🎉
The hospital has pacifiers. The provide everything for baby; diapers, wipes, formula, receiving blankets . We’ve even seen them provide clothes, saddles, and burpees. They will also give you extra pillows for breastfeeding comfort if you don’t want to pack your boppy. Bring an extension cord/power strip. Outlets are sparse and not in convenient locations. For me the fan was a must and I always have Csections, but it helps with any temp fluctuations and nausea from hormones after. The hospital is usually dry. Chapstick and anything else you require when the air is dry. Our hospital rooms were always so bright and the curtains didn’t close. A sleep mask worked wonders for that.
Don't forget a water bottle and lip balm for yourself. They usually recommend Lucozade to give you energy and cereal bars are good snacks for yourself also. Mints also just incase you get sickness during labour. Good luck, not long now.
The hospital should provide a pacifier so I wouldn't worry about bringing one. I brought my pillow and was so glad I had it! A boppy may be helpful. I highly recommend getting the waterproof cover that goes underneath the cute one so spit-up and milk don't get into the actual pillow. And I'd leave the sleep sack home since you'll be snuggling him or have him swaddled while you're at the hospital.
Also, slip on shoes so you won’t have to bend down so much!!! I’ve had some abdominal procedures in the past and I FINALLY realized that slip on shoes were a life saver!!
