Thank you for the additional context. As somebody who only occasionally watched, I was trying to figure out where the musket came in and what the assignment might be.
Everybody can see what comedic geniuses Sedaris and Colbert are, but I have to give credit to the way the extras were directed in this scene as well. They added that extra oomph to make this already incredible scene perfect. Even though they were obviously older than high school age, their reactions made you believe they were students who had no clue about the ride Jerri was about to take them on with “Packing a Musket”.
Jesus. I loved this show. I remember seeing the first three episodes in about 1999 and then going to a wedding reception. At the reception, laughing with other people about the show was more fun than drinking.
Makes me think about dead poets society, and how a poem can be anything it doesn’t have to be about nature or be stuffy or whatever, this is actually really good poetry, plus the character is wrote the poem about something she knows, it’s a shame don’t have the full poem
