I have Been to Scotland many times. The real Mary kings close is fascinating and the wool shops are a must! However, one of my most favorite adventures to do in Scotland is the Jacobite (Harry Potter) train in Fort William! It is a full day adventure that you will never forget! And have your camera ready. The scenes that roll by are stunning! Enjoy!
Good idea on the blanket scarf and how versatile it looks. I find planes sometimes uncomfortable and cold and this would be perfect. Thanks for the suggestion.

Good video...must admit I have been traveling for over 40 years and still don't really give much thought to the "ensemble". I have found that I'm getting really good at travelling lighter and lighter the older I get. I'm also down to a carry-on for anything up to 7 days because of all the issues at airports with checked luggage. Happy traveling...
This is my first time traveling to Scotland but August weather is very similar to July. It should be in the 50s and 60s. I get cold easily so I need to layer up with sweaters and light jackets. Our friend who is coming with us is from Minnesota. She will probably be fine in a T shirt. But I would suggest lightweight sweaters and definitely a waterproof windbreaker in case of rain.
