That Badger and Bloom ties all of your colorful wardrobe together! I just love it. Also, inspired to sew some garments. I am a bag maker and have made quilts but garments seem daunting. And... you should do a thrifting video to give some hints about how you scour the shops. Thank you for your video.
Thank you! The Badger and Bloom is a loud knit, but one that I find I get a lot of wear out of. I love your idea of a thrifting episode. I love thrifting! ❤️
Beautiful outfits and colors. This video took so much effort to make and coordinate. I think you could safely go away for 3 months with all the combinations. And yes, packing the knitting to work on can be harder than the clothes! Have a great trip
Thank you very much! I agree, prepping for knitting while away takes a lot of planning and time. I always want to enjoy my knitting experience, especially when travelling, as I feel it heightens my enjoyment of the trip.
This video is everything! My husband and I travel with carry ons and only when he takes his golf bag do I check ( but I ALWAYS -ALWAYS ) do a “fashion show “ and write it all down. I check the forecast-try on all . We go to Europe only with carry on. The flight cancellations are frequent and with a carry on it makes changing the cancellations in our favor. It is so so doable. I am a dress/skirt gal and don’t travel with pants so my tights keep me warm in cooler weather. Curious about your shoe choices. I actually tied my running shoes to my carryon in Europe as I needed to train for a half marathon when we went to Greece. I never encountered an issue. Your outfits are fabulous!. Thank you for this. As well the Stephen West shawl I am placing into my quene. Have a great visit. Be well!
This is the best way to travel! Great idea tying the running shoes to the carry on. I sometimes wear them on the airplane, but they never go with my outfit, so often I try to stuff them into my packing. Your idea is great! Shoes are the most challenging item to decide on. Always a pair of running shoes for running, workouts, hiking. A pair of walking sandals in warm weather or a comfy flat in cooler climates. Boots are worn onto the plane or a heavier shoe. 3 shoes max.
Fun video with such inspired makes. Went back and watched the packing video for travel. Suggest that you check out the single use wool wash packets. I got a set to try different scents and given one with a knitted gift. They are small and would slip in the liquid bag without taking up a lot of space. They will be part of my travel in the future
Great episode and love the colours and how you pair them together. The me made clothes look fabulous! I also travel with carry-on and avoid white and linen so I don’t have to wash and iron these while travelling to warmer climates. Even my no-iron linen tops get crumpled-looking after one wear. Any tips as you’ve obviously mastered this.
Carry-on is the way to go and happy you're on board! I don't mind wrinkled linen and enjoy the "lived-in" look. Not a helpful response I'm afraid. I do fully support travelling with linen- a natural fibre, breathable and I feel always is in-style!
Thank you very much! Some of the linen is from fabric shops along Queen West in Toronto, but unsure if they ship out. My favourite fabric purchasing shop is Blackbird Fabrics. Great selection, fab customer service and decent details to describe the fabric.
You’ve talked about knitting kids sizes in petite knit- have you found them to fit better? I’m about the size of an 8 year old and even when I knit the smallest petite knit size, garments turn out big and I’m wondering if you’ve found the kids knits to turn out better?
What a great question! So far, yes! I've had great success with the junior patterns. I have knit the Novice Sweater Junior and am currently working on the Moby Junior both in the largest sizes. It could be something to consider. The great thing about it, as you know, is that we can be wooed by the adult size sweater, but the matching sweater in the junior could correspond better to fit your body. Good luck!!!
