Hahaha now you can count yourself an expert! I’ve packed and shipped many barrels & containers, after hurricanes, for holidays, and when the requests come in! 🤣 It’s a huge task but as I’m getting on in years and most of my family members have passed away, I haven’t done one in a long time. US$90+ for a barrel is steep (a bit of highway robbery if you ask me), I think I paid around C$55 for a jumbo barrel last time I sent, maybe 10 years ago - I sent five then. A couple of tips: I make a full list of everything inside; I keep the master and send a copy to my family member; always pack the barrels as close as possible to the exit door - not upstairs or in the basement - makes it easier to get outside and load up on pickup day!!

I have some questions. Please pardon my ignorance as I've never shipped large quantities of items abroad. What is the benefit of shipping the items? Would it be more cost efficient to send $ to the person so they can buy items on the ground in Jamaica? Or are the items not available in Jamaica? Or are they cheaper in the US? How costly is it to ship the barrel & how long does it take to get to Jamaica? Just curious.
