For me personally, day 3 was the most challenging and therefore an absolute highlight of our 8-day Karnali expedition. Huge waves, holes and rapids that could easily rival those of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. The force was so powerful that it tossed us back and forth in our super-light packrafts, but even the two large rafts had their difficulties navigating the rapids. And I've probably never come as close to a wild tiger or leopard in the wild as I did at our rest area. The camp spot was another 10 out of 10 on a huge sandy beach with a fantastic mountain backdrop, where we were able to reflect on the day's experiences over a delicious meal around the campfire. A dream day that I will remember for a long time to come.
