I went downriver along the Toyokawa River, a leisurely stream that runs from Sakurabuchi Park in Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture, and back.
Immediately after the start, on the left bank on the upstream side of Kasaiwa Bridge, there are limestone formations called ``Honeycomb Rock'' that are quite impressive. The eroded appearance was very interesting, and the right bank was a great spot for viewing, with cherry blossom trees and a small red bridge.
As you head upstream, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the huge stones that sit in the middle of the river.Upstream, you will reach the vicinity of Bentenbashi Bridge, where you can take a lunch break. There were about 3 rapids in front of it, so I avoided going up, and on the way back I enjoyed going downriver through some small rapids. The next day, they visited Toka Shrine Okumiya on Mt. Hongu.
