Allow me to introduce: Punkaharju!
That gem of Eastern Finland made of narrow ridges and crystal clear waters. I've also heard people speak of it's mystical side and now it was my time to experience it personally.
I left my car at home and jumped on the bus from Karkkila to Helsinki, where I'd continue via train. This little over 48 hours of adventure will show you a glimpse of the fabled Punkaharju through the eyes of a mountainbiker and a packrafter.
On my travels I'll be meeting with two heavily nature-related individuals: Saimi Hoyer, who believes everything except mushroom picking is a waste of time, and Leena Paaskoski of Lusto Forest Museum.
So sit down and stay for a while. We ain't in no hurry.
This is the third installment of my #FILLARIPÄIVÄKIRJA2 project. During the next two years I'll be making 15 to 20 trips to our fairest national parks and eldest of forests.
My upmost gratitude for everyone involved!
