This is Patagonia. A video about a journey to some of the most remote parts in Chile and the water and the wind. Episode 38 of See The World series with a goal to go around the world by bike, boat or walking. After 6 years of mostly biking from Tuktoyaktuk and having some major bike issues, I leave my bike (Fathorse!) and continue on foot & by packraft. This is the second part of the journey in Lake O'Higgins and it picks up 12 days after the last town (Villa O'Higgins) and at an alpine lake on the West Arm, where I decided I could not continue any further. The goal is to eventually cross over to El Chaiten, Argentina before running out of food. #patagonia #lakeohiggins #packrafting

I don't know exactly what you were going through bro, but I know how hard things can seem out of absolutely nowhere, and the wear of feeling for so long, this very thing that makes us human also can be our downfall. I hope anyone who is struggling will reach out, to friends, family, even me. Just please realize there is more to feel in this life even when sometimes it feels like you cannot feel anything. Vi los videos de Iohan hace años y queria volver a retormar sus aventuras para ver donde estaba ahora y hoy me di cuenta de lo que paso. I'm somewhat addicted to watching adventure videos (from the comfort of my sofa, in front a 49 inch TV screen, of course), and some two weeks ago I stumbled upon your channel. In the past two weeks I haven’t done much else than admire all 38 episodes of your exploits (thanks Covid 19). The fact I have sat through all of them in that time span and all the way to what is (hopefully for now) the end says something. Many people here comment on how amazing your trips are, how respectful of the local people and nature you are, your laid-back narration, the quality of your videos, etc. I wholeheartedly concur with all of that. Keeping all of the filming going in the harshest of conditions is a feat in itself. But there’s more, and here's one of the reasons I stick around: you never complain, whine or whinge. No matter how bad the weather, how tough the conditions, how steep the mountains, how merciless the cold, how fierce the wind or whatever else Mother Nature (or your bicycle) throws at you, you deal with all of it with a sense of irony and a chuckle at the end. Even when you’re stuck on a slope almost impossible to climb on foot, let alone with a bike in tow, I never hear you question why on earth you’ve got yourself into this pickle. The only time I saw you blow your top was when you discovered you had lost your tent while hiking through the snow in Chile (See the World 33). In frustation, you slam part of your pack on the ground and in despair you cry, “Man, are you serious!”. I admire you so for putting that in, because it must have been such a low point. But here’s my point: your anger was not aimed at anything or anyone except yourself: you neglected to keep a close watch on how you had packed your gear and you paid the price. You blame nothing or nobody, and you move on. You deal with it. May I just say how utterly refreshing this is. I have seen far too many videos of outdoorsy RU-vidrs (mountaineers, bikepackers, adventurers) who, 25 miles on the road and experiencing a flat, will nag about the quality of the road, the tires, the weather, and whatnot. Please, if you get out there and decide to go public with your story, we’re not interested in you telling us how much you’re suffering. If you can’t stand the heat, etc. Iohan, you’re an example to all those adventurers who THINK they have an interesing story to tell, but don’t, actually. The fact you endure all that hardship with an open mind and with that quiet resignation makes us admire you even more. We can see you suffer, there’s no doubt you do, but what’s the point acknowledging. Therefore you earn my deepest respect. I live in the Netherlands. We don’t have any mountains and in the way of nature we don’t have a lot to offer either. In our defence, we’re an awfully bicycle friendly country. Still, I suspect there’s not a lot for you to enjoy around here. However, if you’re ever passing through our country on your travels and looking for a place to stay, I would be honoured to put you up, I really would. All the best and hope to see you back with a new video (and new bike?) soon!

Saludos, desde Venezuela, Primero que ante, te debo felcitar por tan hermosas vistas panoramicas que haces en tus videos, me hace pensar que estudiste Cinematografia, es que tus tomas son tan explendidas, que uno queda boca abierta, nos imaginamos que estmos ahi contigo viendo y disfructando de ese hermosos paisajes, se ve qeu tienes buena tecnica para hacer fotografias y eso me ha inspirado hacer algunos videos y fotos. Una toma favorita para mi, es cuando colocaste tu Dron encima de una Aguila y pudimos observar como vuela un Aguila , algo que ni en el cine se ha observado. De tu resistencia fisica y tanto Psicologica, al conducir y resolver los problems en los desiertos de la Patagonia, una fuerza espiritual grande, algo que envidiar y practicarlo. No me canso de ver tus videos, ya que nos muestra cosas maravillosas y la FE y Convicion de lograr cada paso que te planificas, Excelente. Digame cuando pasaste de Panama a Colombia en un bote pequeño, ahi nos demuestra que sabes navegar por : Mar, desciertos, bosques y ciudades. There is nothing else like a Iohan video. And I cannot even describe what makes them so unique - is it the astonishingly beautiful mountain shots, his soothing narrative or his genuinly warm personality. But what strikes me most is the way he sees and experiences the world, free of mundane, worldly troubles most of us seem to be entangled in, not really worrying about what is to come, just living and loving the moment

I am going to re watch b/c I missed half of it. So now you are in Canada, possibly heading to Alaska. Had you known what was happening you would have probably stayed in Chile. Es épico todo lo que hizo. De Alaska hasta el sur por caminos que no anda nadie. Esquivando la ruta y solo bajando a ciudades y pueblos a buscar comida y otra vez a los senderos intransitados. Epico. Lastima que está peste no lo dejo llegar a Ushuaia. Espero que termine el viaje.
