A packrafting trip in Gates of the Arctic National Park in July 2019 with the Fry family. From Anaktuvuk Pass to Bettles. ~40 miles hiking, ~100 miles prackrafting.
Your trip brought back a lot of nice memories for me! I guided in that country for 4 years in the mid-80s. We had a semi-permanent camp between the gates on the mount Boreal side. I wonder if there's any Trace left? My wife of 35 years and I fell in love on a trip from Summit Lake down to the gates and on to bettles. You didn't mention any Wildlife encounters. When I was up there Grizzlies, black bears, wolves and moose were abundant. Did you go see any wildlife?
Me and 5 others are going to do the exact route you all did. Looks amazing. How long did it take you to get to Bettles once you started hiking from Anaktuvuk?
