We had the opportunity to meet with Paco Peña, a longtime user of the DPA d:vote™ 4099G microphone for all his performances, and discuss what he likes and dislikes about the 4099G. We also got a private performance, which was awesome. Thanks Paco!
Paco's guitar was recorded using the DPA d:vote 4099G Guitar Mic → Apogee Duet 2 → Pro Tools.

He isn't simply endorsing it, there are clips online where he uses it in many gigs. That's certainly a great vote of confidence with such a great artist using this mic.

Yo etoy usando este microfo DPA desde hace cuatro añoa y es lo mejor que descubri para amplificar las guitarras clasicas y hace mucho tiempo vengo buscando lo mas fiel a este sonido hasta que lo descubri es lo mejor bravo por estos tecnicos Dinamarquerses

Thank you for the info. I'll look into the GE4099 . Is it pretty easy to install the extender? I was really surprised of the price. I saw Vicente Amigo recently using this mic along side with Neumann SKM 184 and he had it mounted on the mic stand beside it. It sounded amazing. This is how I heard about these mics. It's defiantly an amazing sounding mic. I've had other musicians tell me that a EQ could also eliminate the feedback by getting more control on highs and lows. I tried playing around with the settings on my AER amp and it improved tremendously. I was able to control the feedback and get it even louder. I'm going to try using it live to see how it does in a noisier environment. Thanks again!! Cheers, Mehdi

Hi Mehdi, that's good to hear! Yes, it's easy-as-pie to install. You simply unscrew the cable from the gooseneck and screw them back onto either side of the extender. All the best, Caleb

I just got mine and had no idea that there was an extension available to make the mic stem longer. Is this something easy to add on? Also, how can I prevent feedback when playing with Flamenco dancers and need to be louder? I'm connecting straight to my AER amp, using the mic input. Sounds amazing so far. Thank you!

Hi Toquelibre, yes the extension is called a "GE4099" and is readily available through your local DPA dealer network. Feedback has to do with the mic's proximity (and angle) related to the AER Amp, and the space you're in. There is no one fix, though understanding the science of the mic can help you achieve enough off-axis attenuation to reduce the risk. The d:vote™ 4099 mics offer around 9dB of attenuation at 90° and much more at 180°. So the key would be a combination of level, your distance and the mic's angle to your AER. Hope this helps!

that microphone attachment does equalizations? or the video sound quality did it? cause I never expected Maestro Peña using equalization... I'm disappointed somehow, maybe I'm wrong if hes using

Hi MrClóvis, not quite sure what you're asking here, can you clarify? For this video the mic was recorded directly via an Apogee Duet 2 into ProTools. The guitar signal via the 4099 wasn't affected, apart from the compression to video hosting on YT.
