Great safety tips.. kayaking can get dangerous very quickly and always best to be prepared no matter the weather conditions.

Indeed! You have the potential for some serious waves in your paddle waters! But even a relatively small lake can get tricky on a rough weather day. I remember the last day in the video, shifted between full on snow blowing horizontally in our faces and absolute calm and open skies with sun, within less than two hours.

Some choppy water getting knocked about a bit! Nice video. 👍

Thank you! Yes, some fun chop here and there. Not everyone would enjoy it, some would call it minor, others might call it minor. The trip with the orange kayak (the Airfusion EVO), there I was definitely being bounced around and the waves show as much calmer in GoPro footage. Thanks for watching.

Don't know if I mentioned it to you Patrik I have Dyslexia so with videos like this I have to pause the video each time to read what's on screen so this turned into a 30-minute video for me lol OK first of I loved that Pink kayak I have never seen one that colour before. Great video Patrik with lots of very good advice. Seeing as you asked for the worst weather experiences well mine was over 20 years ago in the Humber. It was a dull day and the forecast did warn of storms but not for many hours so a few of us hit the water and paddled under the Humber Bridge. Then from nowhere the storm hit with Thunder and lightning and the rain was so heavy you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you, don't know how strong the wind was But what should have taken 5 minutes to get back to the shoreline took almost 30. Don't mind tell you that's the only time I have been worried while in a Yak.

Scary George! Wouldn't fancy that 1 bit. Some view I bet going under the Humber Bridge though.

I'm not sure we've spoken about that George. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for still taking the time! The reason for the talking bubbles is that this video actually started out as an exactly 10 minute video with only paddling ambience with views and sounds, without any commentary or text - just as a from-different-kayaks pure experience. Then I noticed that there was some bad weather in some of these and decided to shift to a video where the weather got progressively worse across the clips; then I added some safety notes as it became appropriate and from there I realized that they all had the weather shift in common, and things escalated 😎 I'll normally be most often doing voiceovers or talking while in the kayak or on land, but this was a nice test. That paddle you went on sounds quite bad indeed! Glad things went ok. Thanks for sharing the story.

@@AirOnTheWater lol Don't worry about it Patrik just something I was born with. I have come a long way actually as when I left school I couldn't even spell my own name and now after teaching myself I can now Read a book, even if it takes a long time lol however I still have problems with spelling but I'm 100% better than when I was a kid, but spell checker helps a lot Hehe. Funny thing is schools back then didn't understand and just thought I was lazy infact some teachers even use to call me stupid, probably that's why I was a bit of a bad lad in my younger day and even punch a teacher once for calling me thick, infact I got into a lot of fights while growing up. (Nothing I'm proud of) Even after I left school I got into a lot of trouble until I joined a karate club and learned meditation. Funny thing is I only wanted to learn karate to be a better fighter but I learned to stop fighting if that makes sense. I studied martial arts for 24 years and won quite a few tournaments and ended up running my own club and all the time teaching myself with the help of my family to read and write. Ok That's enough about me. I think you made the right decision with the video and you mentioned some great information for paddling in the weather such as checking the forecast. All together a very informative video. 👍👍

@@uni-bob-kayaking Not something I would do nowadays because I understand more and realise how stupid it was.

@@THE-RIVER-RAT Thanks for sharing George. It's unfortunate you had to go through that and I've read similar stories - the school systems were definitely poorly prepared for (or societal awareness was poor for that matter) when it came to dyslexia back in the day. Some improvement seems to have been accomplished by now. Good job managing that progress. Interesting with the martial arts and great that this sport did you good - I think you share that story with many others as well. It makes sense somehow. Also impressive that you're fluent in shark scares these days, which is another language. 🦈 I just came back from a very peaceful paddle until after midnight, no Northern lights tonight but some really nice moonlight, and extremely peaceful on the water (except for noisy birds). 😎

Good video as always🙌, little different with the text instead of talking, personally I love to hear you voice more than read text.🤗

Thanks! Yes, it comes from that this video initially was supposed to be an ambience video with mostly wave and splash sounds, then it escalated into a weather video and all those boxes, with no voice sound 😎 I might be babbling more and writing less in future videos 😂
