I thought that you should be able to do something like ... y'know, unplug it or cut the wire or something.

You would think but for some reason the only two things I found you could do was kick it or shoot it. I first tried turning off the generator but that didn't count. probably because someone could just turn it back on. Side note the radios in the game are annoying. You can shoot them and they spark and arc but the radio guy can still use them to call on reinforcements somehow.

why do games think suppressors can't suppressor and mask the sound and report of supersonic ammo? because they can. they also don't slow the round down or have a negative effect on the rounds power. quite the opposite actually as you typically gain some accuracy however minute with a suppressor. Sure it's not going to be deadly silent like subsonic ammo but it's enough to significantly reduce the report. Subsonic ammo as this game uses however is significantly slower than standard and would not travel as far or as accurately do to the slower speed being what makes it quiet and the drop being so much faster as gravity can pull it down a lot easier. Subsonic 30-06 and some of the other rounds in this game aren't very effective outside a couple hundred meters. also why is a game called sniper elite never letting you shoot beyond 2-300 meters and acting like that's a feat? it's not even technically a long range shot until outside 6-700 meters which is when the true wind and drop effects become significant.

they don't call it "sub sonic" ammo because a lot of people don't know what it is. So they call it "suppressed" ammo. And that's why in games, suppressors lower your range.

that and most game makers clearly don't understand ballistics in any possible way as all the shots you can make in this game and in ghost recon wildlands have just insane bullet drop on bullets that would still be rising and would have nearly negligent drop during most of the shots taken in those games. Heck in wildlands at 250 meters you can actually drop bullets over cover for Christ sake! with a .308 even which isn't even possible at that range without using a severely lightened load.

while this is true you cant argue that if it was "realistic" it wouldnt be as fun since games are still limited in the amount of range you can see objects and npcs although one thing that i really hate is when scopes have mil dots that dont have any real reason for being there besides it looks kewl
