Appreciate the acknowledgement for it. I still know the Padres just played better ball and deserved that win by a long shot. If the ump was perfect in the best case scenarios, I still think we would have lost by like 5-1. Just not a good day for the bats or the fielding, let alone how shockingly unreliable Manoah has been.
@@TooeaziI think the ump was eavesdropping the mound visit (which he shouldn’t), and overheard Pete walker talking about the bad calls behind the plate
This is what the Padres should look like every game, hopefully this is the start of a great run with multiple underperforming players starting to heat up.
Padres wouldn’t have done as well if manoah got his well deserved strikeouts. Still played well of course, but this joke of an umpire really killed the jays
@@beep1189 The ump is probably responsible for a maximum of 3 of the Pads runs, but Manoah's pitches were just not competitive. Slider comes out of the hand a ball, nobody chases. Fastball just sails up and out of the zone. His outing today showed that he needs to spend 2023 away from the majors and reworking his mechanics. That, or become a part of the trade for someone more established. It's at the point now where every 5 day, it's a guaranteed loss. Absolutely agree the ump was a disaster and also grossly overused his power to eject Walker, but saying he killed the team today isn't fully accurate. Manoah sailed pitches everywhere, bats were ice cold again, and Schneider sealed the deal by dragging Mitch White out for multiple innings. Changes need to be made to the roster in some key spots at the deadline or this will continue happening.
Dumb umpire single handedly changed the trajectory of the game with those 2 strikeouts he robbed from us. Also, why bring back Manoah so early and why start him at home against a good batting team like the Padres? I don't get it
Thats 3 game highlights so far from yesterday's games that have had an egregious bad call by the ump that seriously affected the games. First inning. Its insanity to keep employing umpires when they only do damage to the game. We can get every call correct so why dont we? Really really bad product yesterday and i cannot believe MLB can watch and be fine with it. Just awful disgusting ridiculous insane
3:07 The man just walked up, eavesdropped, and tossed the pitching coach out of the game lmao. Guilty conscience much? Funniest s*** I've seen all week.
True, but I don’t think he’s ready for a long run in the rotation. There’s something missing. Confidence mainly. There’s a lack of leadership on the bench, particularly with the batting; jays at bats are pathetic, immature and extremely unproductive. The first baseman’s first strike out is a prime example of all that and maybe stupidity as well.
yeah having 3 chance/challenges to question the home plate umpire calls within 5s is going to be nice instead of seeing coaches get ejected. This current method of coaches not being allowed to argue a strike call is getting dumb...
what's even more funny is i think there was a video on "CloseCallSports" where in a minor league game they were using it, and the call got over turned to a ball, and the defensive team manager got mad at the ump for the robo ump correcting the call... LOL either way the umps can't catch a break from coaches yelling at them for one thing or the other it seems
@@SylviusTheMad i wish, the commish manfred has already stated he doesn't want to offend the umpires by making their job pointless why the robo ump will just be used as a 3 use challenge system :(
The home plate umpire in tonight's game was next level EMBARRASSING!! Completely incompetent!! That guy shouldn't be calling baseball games in any league, level, or Country...
Agreed, and I'm a padres fan. His balls and strikes were incredibly inconsistent. I've seen such terrible umpiring all season all around the league this year
The first pitch should have been a strike. Those other two high pitches were borderline at best. He made the ejection because Walker was talking isht about him but pretended he was talking to Monoah.
It's this sort of behavior by umpires that will lead to AI Umps. They'll just have a speaker/light system that yells "Strike" or "Ball", and video reply will decide Safe/Out.
I've been saying it for years now. DIGITAL STRIKE ZONE! the technology is there. Take the umpire ridiculousness out of the strike zone and give them less to worry about.
Nah even as a padre fan Manoah definitely got robbed of a few strike outs. That home plate umpire is awful! Also that was the softest and most unnecessary ejection 🙄
The umpiring has been like this all season this isn't even about Malachi Moore every single ump in the league has been the worst I've ever seen this year. They need to start losing pay for these calls.
Brutal umpiring. How small you making that strike zone? Umpires are so soft that the guys is literally talking to his pitcher and you walk up and throw him out. Dude should get fined at his work.
I didn't know you can get tossed for talking smack about someone, but not to that person, and clearly at a distance from that person unless they decide to walk towards you to hear what you're talking about. That's nutty to me.
I hate to say it…….but the way Manoah is pitching………blue jays won’t win anything! It’s not that he just isn’t very good right now……..but the bullpen takes a beating every time he goes to the mound! Sorry, but you have to get more innings from your starter, period! I hope they can get Ryu back soon……..even if he doesn’t win………he can chew up some innings! Manoah doesn’t belong in the major leagues right now……..he needs to get sorted out…….if he can!
So if the umpires make a mistake, why can’t the MLB do anything about it? Sounds like America in a nutshell. Never taking any accountability for their actions
Musgrove was a buzzsaw and the Padres bats were slamming. Its a shame the attention is on the ump: directly responsible for affecting 2 runs and arguably set the tone against the Jays. From a Padres fan.
One of the worst performances of home plate umpiring I have ever seen! It was disgusting!🤢🤮 that look on Moore's face, it looked like he actually went out to the meeting at the mound with the INTENTION of tossing the pitching coach! I turned this game off in the 5th innings because of this🤏🧠 ump! my OPINION without prejudice 🦂
This was my preseason pick for the World Series this year....doesn't look good at all lol, Toronto should make playoffs but San Diego still has lots of work to do
Looking real good out there Boys I feel good when the big puma is producing..........solid four innings of work....sensational ..........errors,misfortune and fundamental baseball.........go jays go
