@@susi_vidalI’m not sure what he’s talking about… the word “paella” refers to the pan as much as the dish prepared in it. You definitely made a paella, especially since it has rice and saffron! Ingredients can vary by version and region. 🤷🏻♂️
@@ProPhile paella refers to the pan, it's true, but it also is the name of a dish from Valencia in Spain and the recipe of such dish is very specific in the ingredients and the preparation. Most purists say that rice with things, even if done in a paella, are not a real Paella as understood from the Valencian dish. Having said that, I would eat that rice even if it's not a real Paella xD
@@ProPhile he is right. Valencianos are very proud people and will say there is only one region. I don’t live far from Valencia and we have some really good paella restaurants around here. I don’t remember a single visit where the discussion has not come up whether the restaurants can actually call it paella … when I make one for friends, I always play it safe and invite a friend from Valencia and ask her to help.
That looks great! I love Chef Murphy. I’ll never forgot him helping us move banquet tables from Landmarc to our restaurant so we could take pictures for our liquor license. One of my barbacks dropped a chair over the railing, down 3 stories. Chef turns to us and says “run!”
That puts you ahead of at least half of them then. At least you are willing to admit what you don't know! 😂 Just watch Uncle Roger roast Jamie Oliver...
That's nice .I don't watch tv anymore but it was good to see Marc.I have good memories about watching him on tv. Wish I could have been there and watched. It would have been an uplifting experience.
Im from Valencia, this is a crime. Not even kidding she didnt even try to do a real paella, that is as we say here "arroz con cosas" "rice with stuff", it can be flavorful but it has nothing to do with a real paella.
I get lost in your eyes in every video you make, I haven't seen something so beautiful, thank you for being my sunrise and sunset every day of my life. ❤
@@GregTally My bad bro.😢😔 How could I forget Caucasian, Latino/Hispanic, European, African, Asian, Native American, Central, and South America. Arab, Pacific Islander, Mixed Race/Multi-Ethnic groups, Jewish, Persian, Indian, Indigenous Australians, Maori, Caribbean, and Melanesian. My apologies. I will do better in the future. I promise.
Being myself from Valencia, that is obviously a “rice with stuff”. However I like the enthusiasm and all the effort you guys do so in the end it is all about sharing and enjoying in a nice atmosphere all together, that is what it matter most.
As a person who was lucky to taste paella at Vallencia, I couldn't agree more. Rice should stick to the bottom a little as far as I know. I remember scraping delicious rice from the bottom of the pan. Also the one I ate didn't have that much of ingredients
I had a colleague once, a weightlifting champion, who on every meal we had at work said that it was the best meal he ever had. We were either at the factory cafeteria or eating our micro wave foods.
A few points of advice from a valencian, sofrito first and veggies cooked, then cook the shrimp and fish, then add back the veggies, ad broth and deglace the paella pan, then rice goes in and no stirring. Fish goes in last but partially cooked. Too many veggies imho but that's just a taste thing
Hey, that's a very nice "arroz con cosas" you made there 😂 It's one of the better attempts at the dish I've seen. Just so you know, Valencians diss the rest of us Spaniards for making it wrong too, you just can't win 😂
I am seeing this dish for the 1st time as i am from a different country but it looks appetising 😌 And as usual another nice vid from susi Ps: Try to make your friends help you next time lol
