we got away from the hustle of makati and visited the quiet town of paete, laguna. i finally got to fly the drone out here, go on a hike, and try some small town street food :)
I visited here as a foreigner and the people were so warm and welcoming. An underrated place in Philippines. I adored the woodcarving shops and peaceful atmosphere.
Yeah, eastern parts of Laguna as well as bordering towns of Quezon province have this ambience that I really liked. I hope they don't become victims of overtourism.
I first went to Paete back in December 2012 while we're on our way to Majayjay, I loved the place. I visited again few years ago to pick up the itak that I commissioned from a local blacksmith, this time I just rode public transportation from my hometown. If ever I meet my special one, I'll surely take her to this lovely small town someday.
the footage is so great. I grew up in Cavite but spent my school breaks and holy weeks at my lolas in Paete with all my cousins and we'd hike up the mountain and wander the streets of ibaba. Feeling homesick so a quick search brought me here~ keep up the good work!
Hi! I'm sorry I don't have his contact, but I'm sure if you ask any tricycle driver, they can take you to the base of the hike or you can take a tricycle all the way to the top. Enjoy your visit!
