Get what you need ONLY when you need it. A pack and play will work as a bassinet or crib until you move. But splurge on a car seat. And buy new clothes for special occasions and the such. Second hand works just fine for everyday wear. Especially since a baby can conceivably go through a dozen outfits a day. You dont need a massive diaper bag. You need 2 outfits, 2 diapers, a single bottle with powder separate, if not nursing, and a blanket to lay them on for changing. (Use the paper towels in the bathroom in a pinch.) If you go through with all that, it's time to go home.🙂

The story about your daughter's name was so very heartwarming. I hope the 3rd trimester and the birth is all smooth sailing for you and your family. I felt similar with wanting my child to learn about the major religions of the world and finding their own path. I ended up buying a few kids books about world religions and we read them together. It's helped when he would meet another child who was indoctrinated into a particular faith. My child was understanding and could have a conversation with them. It also helped with understanding diversity in general. So I'm glad you are doing that with your little girl. I think you will see the good it will bring in her life.

I've gotten some toddler books on diversity in regards to race and LGBTQ, but haven't gotten any on religions yet. I feel silly for not thinking of that! Such a great idea. It's a wonderful way to not only let your child be free to grow and choose for themselves. but they will be so much more understanding and accepting of others too. I love hearing that this was your approach too.

I've had the most luck using a pendulum and asking it yes or no questions. I've lost a ring and started with "Is it in my house?" And since I got a "yes" and broke it down room by room. Best of luck!

I'm going to check these out! While I'm probably more comfortable with the idea of death and dying than most people I know (working at a funeral home helps lol), I still have the occasional existential crisis and reading about NDEs on Reddit always helps tremendously. It is incredibly fascinating, comforting, and validating to me in my spiritual beliefs.
