It is a Pagani. You know the deal by now. 'Borrow' someone else's design, and make a specced up version of it for as little money a possible! This is a lovely clean design, and pairs well with a variety of straps. I could have done without the domes sapphire, to be honest, and the shiny strap would get swapped out for that bright blue perlo, I reckon. Cheers, Jody

With the specs on offer, it's difficult to fault this one for the price. It's a classy, clean, versatile and very legible interpretation of the original watch.

I agree with Jody on the Seiko movement. I think Seiko really threw a wrench into the works when the put out the NH35-6 movement. This movement is proving to be very reliable, inexpensive and accurate. Seiko has made this movement available to pretty much everyone and I would be willing to bet that the Swiss are a little pissed off.

I bought a PD 'No Time To Die' homage on a strap (not dodgy PD bracelet). I wore it for 6 days straight and it gained ONE SECOND. Suck on that you overpriced, overrated Swiss movements!!!!! I bet your 30K Rollers can't do that.

I also thought of the Tudor 1926, 41mm Opaline dial, blued hands. A much closer match than the IWC, in my mind.

There is no excuse for croc style straps on any watch ever, at whatever price point. Why do they even exist? Why do so many manufactures fit them? they could just fit a plain black or brown leather strap, at least they would be usable without looking like complete dogshite.

The seascape and compass make perfect sense, when you think Marine watch, eg. Stowa Marine; Big, white, dial, leaf or poire hands, large numerals - Arabic or Roman. Edit: This also makes the water resist attractive for less skilled sailors.

Honestly big reason I shy away from their watches. Something like Cadisen is perfectly acceptable, a company name referencing an unrelated car manufacturer and "design" when they have their famous photocopier doing all the work isn't.

Luv this watch. It is striking with the way light plays off the blue hands and numerals. Mine has no QC issues. I do like the blue strap also. I rotate this with my Dan Henry 1939 chocolate dial for dress and everyday. They cover most bases in my life.

That’s quite nice. I’d move the date window down a bit and replace the “6” and maybe shrink it down a mil or two. It looks great on those two blue straps for sure (I also hate painted croc straps).

Just bought one off your video and am actually kind of excited. I noticed that although it is, for sure, a knockoff of the IWC, it bears a very strong resemblance to my opaline blue Tudor 1926 to a certain point. Really excited. Came to about 97 CDN. Thanks and keep up the great work.

This kind of watch always gives me problems; I just straight up love that blue-on-white look on a dresswatch! Had my eye on that Seiko cocktail time one, but couldn’t find one at a descent price. Oh it’s just such a killer combo! Plus, on this Pagani, the solid value for money is always a temptation, being Dutch and all… 😉 But my problems stem from one single insight that I cannot get around anymore: I am not a dresswatch kind of guy! 😅 And although I generally love the look of this kind of piece, once I add one to my collection, it always struggles to get some descent wristtime. And that is just sad. Dressing them down does sometimes work, but then, they are competing with some other pieces, mainly divers, who are fully in their element in that more-casual space… Anyway, thank you for the review and specifically the strap fashion show. I am sorely tempted, yet again… 😅

I have a 40mm quartz Lorus with an almost identical dial. This is a little nicer looking. Glad its not just another diver. Looks like a nice daily wear tthat can be a dress watch too.

My mate has a genuine IWC Pilot Chronograph Spitfire Stainless Steel. Looks awesome in the flesh, super clean brushed aluminium, great legibility and lume, glide lock. The anti-reflective coating is impressive. Makes these look like kids watches but yeah, 100x the price

I'm just the opposite, after having several 7s26 and 4r36 by Seiko I'm very pleased with my latest Miyota 8315 and 821A. Accuracywise they outperform most Seiko movements I own - right out of the box.

I really like the watch and I love the value it gives us. I know it has a lot of 'photocopy' design about it but even so, it is a lot more original than the endless, totally unoriginal diver after diver that other companies put out. I like the dial apart from the second logo.

It might just be me, but I would happily pay an additional $5 dollars for the 200m water resistance. I know, I know, I know I can use a 50m WR watch to go swimming, but hey, better safe than sorry... Being able to swim with a dress watch is excellent, and what makes Certina appeal to me (their DS series dress watch).

The watch is a beauty and I'm really tempted (thinking about a 'vintage/classic' watch with a white dial for some time). If only their logo would be less 'pseudo modern' and I think a small second-hand would take this one level up (then maybe without the date, don't know...) - the strap is pure horror though. The strap-show makes me nostalgic - you haven't done full strap-show-videos for some time. Always interesting to see something new in that regard as well!

It's a little large but other than this I like it. Pagani Design have concentrated on their strengths here. It's a handsome watch, hands, numerals and indices, all fits together nicely, no misalignment, nice crystal. Not even the strap looks out of place.

Parnis makes a gorgeous homage in the same style with a power reserve. Unfortunately it has mineral glass and the included strap is garbage, but it's really beautiful.

Nice looking watch. The date at 6 is so much better than a cut out at 3. I picked up the cellini homage they recently brought out with a date at 3 but its a date sub dial not a cut out that looks completely out of place on on dress watch. I'm really impressed with the dial detail actually. I went with Rose gold and black for something different, wish they did a yellow gold plated option though That would be my choice for a dressy pagani design

It’s an interesting diversion from divers, and there’s a lot to recommend it, but I don’t like the date wheel clashing with the 6 and I know the strap is faux croc , maybe that’s why it’s got 200m WR. The perlon and brown leather straps look good.

I think that they order a bunch of watch cases that withstand 200 m of water resistance to lower the price and then make different watches swapping the dial and hands. one type of watch case for more than one propose. I prefer hand-winders to automatics. Thinner cases, no rotor noise, you always know when it's fully wound. I feel like "automatics" have kind of been a gimmick from the very beginning. Was it ever really that hard to wind a wristwatch?

Besides the size, difficult to find something to call attention to it. A dress watch does not need 200-meter water resistance even if the party ends in the pool with everybody drunk and naked. Two-meter resistance works fine in these last circumstances.

I decided to give this a go for a change a couple of weeks before your review so missed out on the second strap 😢, but had a replacement ordered very quickly.... too shiny and feels strange to wear! Shame all movements are not created a little more equally, this is my first watch with this movement and it’s been at +22 to +25 seconds per day right out of box. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm never going to complain about 200m WR or a screw down crown, even if its not a dive watch. Even if not going into or being around water, a screw down crown doesn't get snagged on anything and pulled out, potentially stopping the movement or bending the crown. Don't ask me know I know...
