I recommend that you do not miss listening to the second part , 05:16 , which begins with the tune in time of "barcarola" , with very considerable technical difficulties, and which is not present in the reduced arrangements of the concerto, as in Kreisler's very famous one..
@@salmongaming6753 A perfect example of the Paganinian vision of virtuosity : very high technique and "madness" in execution ... but music that can be singable and that always has something humorous and amusing about it!
@@Meno0583 Thank you for your comment. In his long career, Salvatore owned and played many valuable violins. In 1958 a family friend gave him an Ansaldo Poggi, with which he won the Paganini Prize....Then came many others , such as the Stradivari Hart ex Francescatti (1727),which was one of his favorites, the Firebird ex Saint-Exupéry (1718), and Guarneri del Gesù like the "Hart"( 1730 ). In the 'latter part of his career, Accardo sold the Stradivarius, preferring to keep the 1730 Guarnieri which is what he plays in the video , lately he also uses the Guarnieri del Gesù "Reade" (1734) .
I have been a violinist playing for over 10 years. I am stunned, in shock! I have never heard someone even play at that age, let alone do a full concert, and still can sound that magnificent! People his age barely hold a cup of water without spillage (no offense to anyone). Well done to Mr. Accardo! Bravo!
