She’s biracial so if you cry a white tear because she said she didn’t want to tan to be “lighter like my mama” then that’s fine too. She’s a child. Nobody even said anything negative just that HER black pride came out hearing her wanting to be dark like daddy and if you must know it’s mostly because dark skin isn’t celebrated enough, by (some) white people and even by our own so to hear a beautiful biracial child say she wants to be “dark like my daddy” is sweet considering even kids sometimes prefer to be lighter because they’re preconditioned to believe “the whiter the better”

Exactly. I think the pageant industry is so disgusting. And at the end she said something like "I'm so much better than all the other girls." it's also teaching young girls to tear each other down instead of being there for each other. It looked like an all over foundation. So for black girls it's more about a glow than to actually be darker. Having a black mother and a white father is VERY different than having a black father and a white mother, unless the mother take time to educate herself about the differences that will come. The first person girls compare and identify with is their mother. That's why we want to wear their makeup, clothes, shoes. If a white mother doesn't take the time to point out the difference between them that make the child beautiful and instead make comments about their hair being thin, curly, not like their mothers the child will try to be more like the mother. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up perming the kids hair to be straight like hers. Not saying it's impossible for a white woman to raise a child that's proud to be black, it just requires more research on their end and if they don't put in the research the child could easily end up finding more things about themselves they think is ugly.

I have a white mom and a black dad and I partially agree I always felt black and my dad ensured to educate me at a very young age about my race and racism etc. I do have to say my mom cared for my curly hair until I was about 9 years old but I started straightening it a lot and permed it until I now at the age of 19 learnt to love my naturally curly hair. So yes partially the mother should be a part of teaching the child to love themselves and their black side I do think its more important for the actual colored parent to ensure to teach the child to embrace it.
@ninatee4333
@ninatee4333 4 года назад
@foxcyber1957 I totally agree that she is beautiful. I never said otherwise. However, you are wrong about what you said about Hitler and Germany. I am teacher. And our first and primary goal at school is to educate children so that the past will not ever be repeated. There are a lot of documentaries on German television about the atrocities of WW II and Hitler so that people never forget. You seem to know nothing about Germany's relationship towards Hitler. Otherwise you would not say such unqualified things. I personally fight racism and discrimination with all my strenght everyday by educating children and young people.

Purple Dawn it’s a bit weird to people because the thought of making a name for your baby is special and unique. It’s a bit weird how they took that away from themselves by just making a mashup name. Wow!! That pageant mom is instilling some negative colorism and body image ideas into her child. Good hair is healthy hair...not hair that is straight or less curly. (For those that may not be aware and don’t understand the frustration many have with the mother’s comments, the term “good hair” has long been used to refer to hair that was straighter or does not reflect an African or African-American ancestry. The term itself reflects Eurocentric ideology of beauty and is extremely negative and harmful.) I hope the mom wants more for her daughter than to have “good hair” and win pageants. Seems like the moms are vicariously living through their daughters. A spoiled kid may be cute now, but wait until she is a teen and has no respect for anyone.
