Pagoda Cabinet Presentation June, 2022 

This video documents David Welter’s presentation of James Krenov’s conserved pagoda cabinet at the Krenov School in June of 2022.
Krenov made the pagoda cabinet in 1971 while he was living and working in Sweden. The cabinet remained in Sweden for fifty years then a graduate of the school acquired it and turned it over to Welter for cleaning and conservation.
Welter studied with Krenov for two years before becoming a teaching assistant at what was then known as The College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking Program. He parlayed that position into a 30-year career and is arguably the most qualified person to be reporting on Krenov and his work.
For the pagoda-conservation project, Welter collaborated with Joe Amaral, a professional finisher who is also a Krenov School graduate.
