In the nohkalikai falls story the finger was not actually found this way but rather it was kept in a beetlenut basket northeast people eat beetlenut or supari after every meal so while she went to grab it she found the finger in that basket rest of the story is correct. (I am from northeast)

NOHKALIKAI Meghalaya has the tradition of eating khwai( betelnut/ paan) after every meal...so kalikai after her meal she went to eat khwai and finds a finger at the khawi basket/ bowl/plate where she immediately understood that it was her daughter finger 😢 Ig Shrinkhal made mistake at that point of the story of NOHKHALIKAI
