Paint 4 Different Watercolour NIGHT Skies, Simple Landscape Watercolor Sky Practice Demo Tutorial

For this beginner-friendly sky practice, I've divided my paper into 4 with masking tape and paint 4 different night skies. I use a bit of masking fluid in 2 of them to preserve the white paper, and a bit of salt for effects in one.
I'm using a limited palette of Indigo, prussian blue, sepia and paynes grey, and I use a paper towel wrapped round a penny to lift out the moon in 2 of them.
I'm using Saunders Waterford cold pressed 140lb/300g weight paper, and various brushes as mentioned in the video, but use what whichever brushes you are happiest with.

Thanks for that great demo. I think the masking fluid works really well for the trees (top right) but less well for the moon reflection in the water. It’s tricky stuff, because it is really difficult to get the fluid to leave a thin line - it’s always quite thick with rounded, stubby ends to the line. I thought the tip of using a tissue-covered coin for the moon was brilliant! Thanks again.

Thank you - I did do one on a smaller piece of 140 pound Cold press. I think the copper you have in the UK maybe a bit larger than the US copper coin. Regardless I quite enjoyed it.
